Her bearing in the court and in life in particular is found very haughty and contempt. It is no wonder where Paris Hilton got her awful manners from. Pretty often, her parents displayed arrogance and paid no respect to the lower people who served them in the hotels and restaurants for instance. It was under their so called dignity, and thus their daughter is simply applying the same.

Raised by her haughty parents Paris Hilton was told form the day of her birth she was the only important person in the universe. So it is no wonder why she is bearing so arrogant and disregarding other human beings, fully devoting her life to her own desires and pleasures. I doubt such way of living will ever be proved valuable, but it seems Paris Hilton is never going to understand that, or isnt she?

Hints On Serger Threading

Threading a serger can be a hastle. It is so much more complicated than a regular sewing machine. Instead of having one spool of thread, you might have as many as eight different threads working all at once.

Since the introduction of the home serger, users have complained about just how hard it is to thread. With multiple threads, needles, and strange looking gismos, it not only looks complicated, it is. It not only feels like you have to twist and turn just to thread it, it does.

Above the thread cones behind the machine, is a tall wire thread rack. The threads are drawn up and over the rack. They then are threaded through guides, tension assemblies, some more guides, and finally to their deliver device. It is so easy to get the threads tangled, that you really need to be on guard.

The mechanism moves the needle down through the fabric and needle plate. The thread from the needles is drawn through the fabric. The lower looper picks up the needle threads and moves to the right. The upper looper picks up the needle thread and the lower looper thread and wraps it around the stitch finger. This process is repeated again and again forming overlocking stitches around the edge of the fabric which trail along behind as the seam moves through the sewing machine.

However, when a serging machine is not properly threaded, the stitches are messed up or possibly ruined completely. There are many ways to improperly thread a serging machine, but only one right way to produce quality stitches.

The major sewing machine distributors offer a line of sergers. You can find Brother Homelocks, Viking Huskylocks, and dozens of others. Most of these use similar threading processes, although hundreds of different models can have slight variations.

So, how do you thread a serger? Begin by lifting the presser foot. This releases the pressure on the tension assemblies and make it much easier to thread them. Find the thread that will be used by the upper looper. Pull it up through and over the thread rack. Bring it down and through the thread guides on the machine. Some machines have the thread woven through a couple of guides.

The same technique used to thread a conventional sewing machine is used to thread the tension assemblies on a serger. The biggest difference is that there are several to thread. Traditional sergers used individually surface mounted tensions, but some sergers today encase the actual tension assembly in the front serger cover. In the latter case, you will see a groove for the thread and a dial for adjustment. It is vital that the thread slide between the tension discs on the tension assembly.

Serger tension is a common source of problems. Not only is it essential to properly seat the thread between the two round tension discs, the tension must balance with multiple threads.

Lifting the presser foot before you start thread, releases the pressure on the tension assemblies making it easy to thread them. Make sure each thread is drawn through the tension discs and held firmly in position. If the presser foot is down, the thread (can|may|will travel along the topof the tension discs instead of moving through them properly. The solution is: raise the presser foot lever when you start threading, and keep it up until you thread the needle.

After drawing the thread through the tension discs, continue threading through additional thread guides. Carefully follow the user manuals instructions for proper order. Unless a serger is threaded in proper order, the serger will not work properly. In most cases, thread the upper looper first, then the lower looper, and finally the needles. It is essential to be done precisely each time. No variations.

When you reach the needles, pull the thread through the serging machine take up lever, and back down through any more tension guides to the eye of the needle.

When you complete the threading process, examine the thread lines for any irregularities. Examine the tensions by tugging a bit on each thread first with the presser foot up and then with it down. There should be very little resistance when it is up, and significant friction when it is down.

Since threading sergers is such as hastle, here is one tip than can save loads of time and frustration. While it is necessary to rethread the entire machine when a thread breaks, you can change out cones of thread by tying off the old thread and new thread. Use as small a knot as possible, and then gently move the threads through the serger. You can pull individual threads or the whole set of threads may be advanced by turning the hand wheel or running the motor.

Errors in threading result in messed up stitches. Missed guides, improperly seated tensions, snags, and twists can do havoc to stitches. If your serger is not making proper stitches, rethread.

There is an exception to this threading system in the advanced jet air threading system of the Baby Lock sewing machine. Baby Lock originated the home serger in 1964 and has led the market with advances and features unparalleled by any other brand. The Baby Lock Imagine and Evolve sergers use an advanced devices that thread the serger by a simple press of a lever. They use an advance thread management system that makes traditional tensions obsolete. They may also be threaded in any order. If a thread breaks, it is unnecessary to rethread the machine.

THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, and law enforcement officials, are taking the major criminals off the streets. This has effectively reduced crime, until a new criminal mastermind shows up, and things get a lot worse. Batman is in a battle now, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released an overwhelming assault on Gotham City.

TROPIC THUNDER: Filled with great actors the genre of the film is a classic spoof. Things are going bad. To get his super star cast to see the movie be a success, the seemingly bold director into the wild jungle, and leaves them on their own. He hopes to overwhelm them into producing a war classic, which will be caught on hidden cameras in the area. When the director blows up on an old French land mine, the spoiled actors are on there own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, but things are getting very, very real. Written, directed, and acted in, by Ben Stiller.

STEP BROTHERS: When two child like older men, who both live at home with one parent, find themselves having to live in the same bedroom because their mom and dad get married, you have one crazy situation. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell in those roles, and this seems to be a great recipe for a funny movie. This comedy looks like a sure thing if your looking for some laughs.

MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: This is obviously the next edition to the big hit film Madagascar. The small group of animals desire to return to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, and go back to the lives they know. As opposed to going home, due to the Penguins, they are heading off to have more adventures first.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the tale of Scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who has been changed into a creature called the green Hulk. This movie tells of the marvel comic character the green Hulk. Key cast members are Edward Norton, Tim Roth and Liz Tyler. Louis Leterrier directed this movie. This movie would be classified as a science fiction film.

BOLT: Bolt: This film is an animated comedy. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who in his role on television, is a super hero dog. On a journey to get back home, he is aided by Rhino and Mittens, his newly found hamster and cat friends.

Why Proper Framing And Storing Of Pastels Is Achieved!...

Where to start on this, that is the question facing you? These paints tend to collect extra specks of dust etc. There is no getting away from it, they are not really too easy to work with, being made of a smudgy consistency.

It is worth bearing in mind that pastels can do you harm, as the pigments will pick up dust particles, which can in turn be inhaled if you are not careful. So it is hard trying to save your work.

Some people do use a daily newspaper to store their work, but with this you stand the risk of spoiling your work with the newsprint or acidity of the paper. Another way out of this would be to use a tissue paper that is acid free.

So, for instance, you want to store your work for sometime to come. In this case I would buy an acid free board. Personally, I would cover it with greaseproof paper and tape it down firmly with masking tape.

You may decide to make changes to your work at the framing stage. A picture sometimes may take on an improved look by having second thoughts and eliminating some part of the painting.

So how do you decide? In my home I have made myself a frame out of stiffish card. I place this over my work and move it over and around my work. This way then sometimes I remove some of it to enhance my work. It does not necessarily always amount to much to make an actual difference.

Pastel does not work next to glass. If you do this you will have both condensation and find dark spots or patches on your work. To remedy this for framing, your painting would need a mat of cardboard on top to separate it from the glass.

If you frame it with the mat no problems should occur in the years to come, even without fixing it. This does not mean that you cannot fix it! Spray it with an aerosol by all means, but be careful not to inhale some of the strong fumes.

I cannot stress enough how dangerous these fumes can be to your health. Care is needed when spraying. Take your work outside if the weather will allow it. Failing this, fling open all your windows, if you must do it inside.

Remember when you work around pastels, you could be allergic to the dust they create. In view of this, and the paint fumes, I would say go out and buy yourself a plastic mask which will cover your mouth and nose.

After all, you are likely to get a stuffy, blocked up nose, if you room has very little air. This is just a little bit of advice, but an important one. Be aware of your hands, pastels are messy, so give them a good wash when you take your breaks.

In the series so far, we've looked at three chords: C, F and G. All these chords are major chords. You can spice up your playing considerably by adding into that minor chords.

So we'll be taking this article to look at our first minor chord. One that fits well with the other chords we've looked at.

What Is A Minor Chord?

The major chords we've looked at have all had a 'happy' sound to them. In contrast, minor chords have a 'sad' sound to them.

To change a chord from being major to being minor takes just one note: the third.

In a major chord, one of the notes that makes up the chord is the note four frets higher than the root note. For example, in a C chord the third note is an E and the C chord contains an E.

In a minor chord, the third note is one fret lower (i.e. three frets above the root note). That means that in the case of A minor the root is A so the minor third is the note of C.

How to Play A Minor

The big advantage of the A minor chords is that it only takes one finger to play it.

To play A minor fret the G string at fret 2 with your middle fingers. And let all the other strings ring open.

Before you play A minor for real, it is very important to check that the C string is ringing clearly when you play it (since it is this note that makes the chord minor).

When chords are written up, they are often shortened. So you'll usually see Am used as a shortened form of A minor.

This A minor chord fits excellently with the major chords we have looked at so far. So if you're looking to write a song, all these chords will go together well.

Bass players today are copying licks from other famous bass players without really adding anything new, we keep hearing the same phrases. When the time comes for the bass player to join a band, we will then again hear more of the same without any real innovation.

There is a reason why bass teachers tell students to practise with a drum machine or a metronome, it is the same reason James Brown use to say Give me the one. You have got to understand where the pulse of the music is, even if there is no audible beat or click.

If you want to play like a professional, you will have to develop your timing skills. The quickest and easiest way to improve your timing is to get yourself a set of drum sticks and air drum to all the music that you like, you will start to hear music differently. Regular practise with sticks will help you understand how all the music fits together.

Timing is not just for christmas, it is a lifelong pursuit.

Amy is the drug-addicted lover of Jason Stackhouse, Sookie's brother. In case you're wondering, the drug of choice in True Blood isn't coke, marijuana, or methamphetamine. My Tribute To Norman Mailer

When I woke up Saturday morning and opened up the computer the first thing I saw was that Norman Mailer had died at 84. I closed the computer, and didn't open it again until the next day. Norman Mailer was a hero of mine, and a lot of my heroes are starting to leave.

I admit that there are many issues that the both of us didn't agree on, but it doesn't matter anymore. He was one of those very few people, who would fearlessly write on what they believed in.

The rest of my Saturday was spent trying to reminisce on the good things Norman had done. I could still remember the first book he published in 1948, which was entitled The Naked and the Dead. I read it when I was still 16. It was in the year 1969.

From then on, I read almost everything he wrote, and if he was going to be on TV, I always watched. He never failed to be interesting, and to have an idea, something most people who write and are ontelevision never have.

I'm pretty sure that I had last seen him on Charlie Rose, and a show that I can't remember at this point. He had a small hearing problem, but he had high spirits. It so saddening that his appearance was just too short.

I forgave his politics a long time ago. The difference between Norman and many other liberals was that he really believed in his ideas. He was just as likely to call a Democrat on the carpet as a Republican.

At times Mailer was savaged by the New York literary establishment and by critics. He didn't care two hoots in hell what they thought, and just kept writing and speaking.

I enjoyed Norman Mailer's last masterpiece entitled The Castle in the Forest, it was even rumoured that he was planning to work on a trilogy on Hitler.

The moment I knew that Norman Mailer would appear in Charlie Rose, I became excited.

It was disappointing to hear he had died. There would be no trilogy, and another one of my heroes had just passed away.

By Sunday, I got better. Norman Mailer was one of those few people that would defend the right to protect yourself. He had known enough about the idiot people in his chosen party. I guess he couldn't build up any respect for any of them. Norman Mailer knew all along that they had no courage to fight at all.

Because he could write fearlessly, they couldn't

Norman Mailer was a real man, and a brave one, too.

I imagine the dialogue in heaven is going to be a lot richer from now on.

If there's somebody who could just keep God on his toes, then the perfect man for that job would be no other than Norman Mailer.

You will find the MUSIC folder inside and this is where the music should be transfered. (Note: If this folder is not already on your PSP, then do the following. Open the PSP file system and create a new folder there called 'PSP'. Open the new folder you've just created and create another folder inside it called 'MUSIC').

Use your computer to download and copy all your music files onto the PSP music folder. After you're done transferring the files, press the o button on your PSP to disconnect the PSP from the computer. It's now safe to unplug the USB cable from your computer and from your PSP.

Play and Listen Music on PSP

Using the arrows on your PSP, find the music area and choose the music folder by pressing the x button. You will now see all the music files you downloaded to your PSP. Just choose any song and listen. If you start running out of space, then you'll need to eliminate other files or get a Memory Stick Duo with a bigger memory.

With the price of computers falling everyday and the power that sits inside going up, the option to use them as musical instruments with midi keyboard controllers has never been greater. The vast array of choices can leave the beginner with information overload, especially when deciding which if a traditional route maybe be better than going with a computer setup. We will cover the costs of of both setups along with how expandable and portable each solution is. By the end hopefully you will have a better understanding of what a workstation or software solution can offer you and then make a sensible choice on your purchase.

Musical instruments over the years have slowly been adapted to the digital format but none so prominently as the piano which became the keyboard. The first major innovation came in the 60's when Bob Moog unveiled his Moog series of keyboards. While still analog, these advancements set the stage for the digital revolution to begin. Today the choice to setup a keyboard workstation using a computer and software is much debated just as the analog versus digital audiophiles have squabbled about for decades now.

So when you when you decide to make your purchase you have two main options to select from. Do you go the software route or stay with the more conventional all in one keyboard workstation. It is my hope that I will be able to guide you on your journey, helping you make the choice which is best for you. First, lets see what each setup is made of. The digital workstation is pretty much what you see is what you get. It's all built into the unit and unless you want to add some accessories then you need nothing else. Now the first drawback to some wanting to use software is that this is a bit more of a setup. The heart and soul is your computer and if you want to use this for gigging then you have to have a laptop.

After the computer, a sound card will be needed in order process the digital signal. You can try using what is already built in to your computer but the latency will probably to much to overcome. There are many way to go when purchasing a sound card but buying an external card will save in setup costs unless you are comfortable with installing it yourself. We will also need a midi keyboard controller and the software package that you prefer. Once you have that then you have a solid software setup ready for use.

If you haven't noticed by now the computer setup is much more difficult to get going then the plug and play workstation. Should I even consider this as an option for me? The answer is yes! While it is more of a headache to get started, the quality of sounds and options can't be beat. Add to that the ability to add-on as much or as little as you want and this now becomes a strong candidate. The audio-card also enables recording on your computer as well. If you were to purchase an M-box audio-card then that would come with the Pro-Tools software that could be used to record or for live shows as well.

When decision time comes, does setup time and portability weigh heavier than the quality of sounds and limitless extensibility? You also have to consider that the software solution adds a home studio into the equation for no extra cost. To be fair, workstations do have the capability to do some simple recordings but it is not something you could really take advantage of in a band situation. I don't know about you but I like the idea of doing some full demos as well.

Some great soft synths to start out on would be anything by Native Instruments. Another favorite of many are the libraries made by East West. They will record in various concert halls, using the best microphones available and create small wav files from popular string or woodwind instruments. With a simple midi keyboard you can control each sound and build an entire orchestral piece that would be impossible to do with just a workstation.

Now to the main concern of most, what will each cost me? If portability is a must then a laptop is a must as well. If you do not have one then your overall price of a software setup will go way up. You will probably spend between 1 to 4 thousand dollars on a quality workstation so if a laptop is not needed then it is probably cheaper to go with a software setup.

If you total up the price of a keyboard controller, sound-card, and software you will probably be well under a thousand dollars on your total purchase. You do have to consider that some software can be very expensive and how many different pieces you decide to get is what will really determine what your completed price will be. Now that we have looked at both scenarios, hopefully you will be able to make a better choice as to which setup will be right for you.

Which chords is a beginner most likely to need? Which are easiest to learn? Which will you find most often in songs? Which chords sound good when played together?

This set of articles sets out to answer those questions and in this particular article we'll be looking at the F chord.

The F chord is slightly more tricky than the C chord since it requires the use of two fingers.

Firstly you should put your index finger (or pointer finger if you prefer) on the first fret of the E string (one up from the bottom). Then you should put your middle finger on the second fret of the G string. Again, make sure that both these notes are ringing clear and true by playing them individually.

Also make sure that the notes that you are not fretting (the C and A strings) are ringing clearly. This can be a little tricky at first. You may find that these strings are dampened and not ringing out as clearly as they should do. The simple reason for this is that one of your fretting fingers is resting against a string as you are fretting another string.

Look carefully at your fingers to see if this is happening. If you can see one is touching one of the strings, then you have found the problem.

Ideally, your fingers should be lifting up from the fretboard to create an arc above the neck of the ukulele. The top part of your finger should be coming down at almost a right angle to the fretboard. Fretting in this way will allow the strings to ring out clearly.

If you want to create a great sound on the ukulele, paying close attention to this aspect of playing is absolutely essential. You'll encounter this again and again when you start to learn more chords and it's important to get into the correct way of playing as soon as possible.

So it's good to get this technique down as soon as you start so that the good habits will transfer through into your later playing.

Now you have learned two chords: C and F. There are many songs that include this chord change. In fact, it is one of the most common around.

Whats the best subject in Photography? Many have been searching for the right answer without realizing it lies within the individual senses, the things that motivate the seeing, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. It all depends on the interpretation of the photographer and what techniques he'll be using to send a message to his audience that will categorize the works as the "best" subject in photography.

Ask yourself (or rather your eyes): What do you want to see? There's a saying that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" therefore you alone can determine beauty. I know ideas starts to pop into your minds right now but let me share to you some of the best and simple subjects I have experimented (with astonishing results) that you might want to tackle one of these days:

1. Countryside

The subject of being free and greenery is universal. People find them attractive because the image gives them the illusion of sitting through that moment when the picture was captured and a split-second escape of their current place. The more natural your image looks the more it is inviting to the audience. Capture that lush green grasses and trees, how fluffy the nonchalant clouds under the blue wide sky, or even the nightingale sitting atop the cow. Also, try to stray away from the generic angle or position. Why not capture the shots while youre lying in the ground to make the view out of the ordinary?

2. Food

Now this one is for the photographer who wants an automatic head turn towards his work. More often than not, the very person who made them sells these crafts. Of course, you'll find booths that have people there who were just hired to mind the stall. I have nothing against them and nothings against the people who made the crafts. With things going wrong again, as the Penguins are up to their old tricks, they are off to have more adventures first.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Full time stoner Dale Denton unfortunately has just viewed a bad cop, and a big time dealer, kill someone. He was spotted, and they know he has seen what's gone down. Knowing they've seen him, he unwittingly throws down his joint, a unique version called pineapple express, and gets away fast. The weed is so special, that the bad guys can. The game is on, the bad guys are hunting, and Dale and dealer Saul are on the run.

HAMLET 2: Failed actor Mr. Marshz has moved on to teaching theater classes at the high school to uninspired high school kids. When they lose a building at the campus, the school board figures the acting classes will be what is dropped. Wanting to fight, he hopes to keep the school from dropping his classes by producing Hamlet 2, a new version of the classic, which is his own work.

GET SMART: Maxwell Smart, as agent 86, is here again, and everything is under "CONTROL". KAOS vs. CONTROL, agents hidden in plants, and all the classic quotes. It is fun to have another glimpse back at the antics of Maxwell Smart.

TROPIC THUNDER: With a star studded cast this film is a spoof on many of the most popular war movies. Things are going bad, that to get his underachieving super stars to make a true epic masterpiece, the desperate director into the wild jungle, and leaves them on their own. His theory is to frighten them so they will produce a work of genius that will be recorded on hidden cameras. Incredibly, because the director dies unexpectedly by stepping on a real land mine, the actors are now truly on their own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, when things start to get very real. Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise star.

STEP BROTHERS: When two 40 year olds, who each live with their single parents, find themselves having to live in the same room because their parents marry, we see that they are bound to have problems. Having the combination of Reilly and Ferrell playing the parts, and this has the makings for a raucous comedy. This seems like a sure fire bet for comedy lovers.

FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL: Down in the dumps after a devastating break up with long time girlfriend Sarah, (an actress in a cheesy sitcom), Peter finally plans to go on a trip to Oahu to get over his misery. As you might guess, upon checking into the resort, he runs into the woman who just left him and her new lover, a rock star super stud. This film is a classic romantic comedy.

ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, a couple of energy drink promoters, might be seeing some hard jail time after trashing the company truck. The way they can avoid serving jail time is to perform 150 hours of community service. They are assigned to work as mentors with difficult children as sort of a big brother. The pieces are all in place for this to be very funny.

ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: The bills aren't getting paid and Zack and Miri, roomies who have been friends since grade school, are desperate to make some money. The answer? Easy, make a dirty movie. Obviously this seems like a good recipe for a funny film.

Beginning Guitar Lessons - Different Parts of Guitar

Learning to play the guitar has been revolutionized by the Internet. It is easier than ever before to learn online with products like Jamorama, which covers all the bases. So, you are holding the guitar on your knee. The body is resting under your right hand. From the bottom of the body going towards the neck, the parts of the guitar are:

1. The tailpiece. This holds one end of the strings. It is usually metal, sometimes has a whammy bar attached to it and is either bolted or glued to the body.

2. The body. This is that pretty colored, shaped part that is just under your right hand. This is the largest part of the instrument and controls the sound of the instrument. Usually made of some type of wood but sometimes other materials are employed.

3. The pick ups or sound hole. On an acoustic guitar, there will be a sound hole under the strings in the center of the body. On an electric guitar, there will be between one and three electronic pickups there (no hole). Both of these have the same function, which is to transfer sound and make what you play audible.

4. The neck. This is sticking out to your left there and is about 2 ? feet long. Necks are made of different types of materials. Most common are rosewood and basswood. Higher quality guitars can use mahogany here.

5. The frets. These are the little metal bars running across the neck. The nearer they are to the body, the closer they are together. These make the different tones possible and your fingers will be placed just behind them.

6. The nut. This is where the neck joins the headstock. It is a hard nylon and has grooves that act as guides for the strings.

7. The headstock and tuning keys. This is the uppermost part of the guitar and has the tuning keys attached to it. The strings will be held by the tailpiece and then threaded through the tuning keys and pulled tight to be tuned. The tuning keys can be anything from plastic to gold.

Why Would You Need Different Papers For Painting?

The correct answer is it can be very important. For watercolours, for instance, you have three main types. "Rough," "Hot Pressed", known as HP like the sauce, and "Not" or "Cold Pressed". So, what do we know about them?

A good paper to start with perhaps would be the "Not" (Cold Pressed) variety as it does not have much texture to it. This is smooth, because when it is in manufacture it is pressed through cold rollers.

If the paper has been run through hot rollers, ("HP"), it will be textured as this has ironed effect to it. I wouldn't put a wash on it, as really, it would not hold this too well. Small scale, detailed work, is ideal for drawing on this paper.

Rough is a very well textured paper which can be very effective as the paint does not always reach the raised surface. Probably not good for a beginner to use though.

Many artists like to stretch their own paper, though if you are a novice, wrinkling could be a problem. You will find that if the paper is wet, it really does stretch, but not necessarily so that it will be even all four ways.

Therefore if you intend to stretch paper, the following has to be done first. Hopefully so that wrinkling does not occur. You will need a pair of scissors, a small bowl of water, a roll of brown gummed paper and a natural sponge.

Take the roll of gummed paper, measure and cut pieces of it longer than each side of your paper. Next step being to wet your sponge and then cover your paper in its entirety with it.

On a flat surface you need to start to flatten it out to get your smooth surface with the side of your hand. You need to start from the centre and move outwards. After this, tape all four sides down with your gummed strips.

Probably you will be thinking to yourself it still looks wrinkly, but have a little patience. Let it dry, and I do mean naturally, and it should dry flat. So now you have your support (this is what we call the stretched paper). Ideal paper for watercolours.

Acoustic Guitar Tuning Done the Right Way

You should be sure to do your acoustic guitar tuning each time you sit down to play, whether you are practicing or performing. Its pretty unpleasant to try to make beautiful music on an un-tuned guitar. Always remember to tune up. This means going from loose to tight until the string is in tune. If you go too tightly and then loosen the string slightly to put it in tune, this is referred to as tuning down. It is always best to loosen the string and then re-tighten it to put it into tune. Tuning up keeps the string in tune in a much better fashion and the results are more precise.

A reference pitch source is needed whether or not you want to use an electric tuner when learning how to tune your guitar. Some options as to other things you can use are a tuning fork, another in tune guitar, a piano, or an MP3 that you know is in tune. Your results will always be accurate if you use an electric tuner when acoustic guitar tuning. If you'd like to try it the old fashioned way, an electric tuner will be helpful if you'd like to check your results.

Start your acoustic guitar tuning with the sixth, or E string, using a reference pitch. Once you have the E string tuned, you can then tune the other five strings to that note. The reason for how and why this tuning method works is quite lengthy. To get a realistic performance from his spoiled actors to see the movie be a success, the now venturesome director into the wild, and leaves them there by themselves. The object is to frighten them into making a war movie monster, that will be recorded on hidden cameras. When the director steps on an old land mine and dies, the actors are now truly on their own, and they are convinced everything is just an act, when things start to get very real. Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise star.

What is Paper Mache? Basically, with this you get some newspaper and rip it up. Pummel it with water which leaves you with a soggy lump. At this stage it is ready for you to mould it into any shape that you like.

When it is at the wet stage, you then add glue to it. Once you have acquired your required shape you have to leave it to dry. Similar to wood you can then put a primer on it, before you go on to paint your article.

The advantages with this being that this medium is both strong and yet also light. This is so useful as it can be used to create so many things.

So who would have thought you could make paper from the Sugar Cane plant? Yes, this is true, it is made from the actual husk. It can be used as a drawing surface, but is very good, in fact, for paper mache too, as it is very absorbent. Even though it is thick and fibrous, it can be torn easily and it comes in a selection of colours.

Gesso - This is a priming coat for canvas or other surfaces before you actually start to paint. It is a sort of glue. This normally consists of whiting, chalk, white pigment or plaster.

This gesso, you will find, will make a seal on your surface which, you ought to discover, is reflective too, better as the canvas doesn't roll.

Impasto is a surface which is textured and paint strokes make impressions on it with their bristles. Impasto itself is made by using a palette knife or paintbrush and then filling them with paint to be put on to the canvas. This creates layers of paint.

What is pigment? This is what is used to dye or colour the paint itself. This, as a paint medium, is made from minute particles as they have been ground very finely. In time gone by the consistency came from animals, plants and minerals. Nowadays a lot are made from synthetics.

Embossed - This is a pattern which has been marked or stamped on to the surface and in some cases carved. It can also be used with metal and a hammer.

Fixatives are a way of trying to preserve your painting. These can be sprayed or brushed on.

Positive and Negative Shapes - If you take the time to consider the shapes inside a painting or drawing, they fall into two categories, positive and negative. The positive shape will be the main parts or objects.

Whatever you have bordering the positive, will be the negative shape. However, you need to work equally on both sections to reach a successful conclusion.

Grid is when you draw square boxes on to a card backdrop for still life drawings. This makes it much easier to decide where the shadows and shapes should be positioned on your drawing.

Acrylic Retarder is used to lengthen acrylics open drying time. Maximum use of 10% with acrylic is recommended. This is pretty handy when shading or blending in Wet in Wet techniques and it helps to combat skin forming on your palette.

Acrylic Gloss Varnish, if mixed with colours, will increase the way the paint flows, also their transparency and luminosity. This is good for quick drying glazes. It also makes your brush strokes blend well on your surface and is certainly flexible.

Music Fair

I had always been the music buff. But it didn't mean I wasn't biased with what I wanted.

So I was really excited to hear a music festival was happening this week. The theme? Classics. My kind of music, and not the noise some other run-off-the-mill bands would make.

Arriving in the scene (alone, since no one shared my interests) I was greeted with the soft, soothing tones of Vivaldi's Four Seasons being aired in the PA System spread throughout the grounds. Very appropriate being outside. There were quite a few people during the morning, but I bet my bottom dollar it would get crowded during the afternoon where the highlights were. Our town was known for it's appetite for music.

There were a large number of booths, selling almost everything that had something to do with music. Piano sheets, musical instruments, antique records, portraits and busts (of the artists) and of course, CDs and DVDs. There was a listening station where I mostly hung out for the most part of the day. Not that they minded, I had great interest in listening.

Afternoon came and the Flower Duet was slinking lazily in the air. The stage was being set for an early performance by a passing orchestra. I had immediately taken a front row seat for myself, and there were a few people who shared the same idea as me. The orchestra did not fail our expectations. They were awesome. Especially the performance of the orchestra of Canon in D. The only word I could think of: eargasm.

What I found fun was the open-air dance that night. The orchestra still did the numbers and me, not to be a party pooper, indulged one. Great timing, for Habanera immediately came up. We had fun, like the gypsies of old, whirling and dancing to the sounds of the night.

I had so much fun by the time I went back, I realize I hadn't eaten lunch and dinner.
