A Guide To American Train Series - Lionel Model Trains

The American Flyer is in all probability the most famous of all model train series. They did achieve their peaks around the 40's and some other peak in the 60's, they are around longer than that. Their popularity is also very popular nowadays too and they are,i personally reckons that they will be hanging around another 100 years!

A toy maker in Chicago called William Hafner, in the very early 20th century built a model train developed on a clockwork motor, primarily for the use in toy cars. By about 1905 how ever he decided to put them into use in model trains too. Good thing he did, the model cars sold no where near as well as the trains.

William Hafner and his partner share the same name, William Coleman approached a small manufacturer of hardware, Edmonds-Metzel. They used this company to start selling clockwork trains in 1907.

They were first commercialized under the name of Edmond Metzel trains, but because they were selling so fast and so well they required a new name and they came up with the name of the American Flyer. This happen at 1910. Even the name of the hardware firm they were using had likewise changed its name to incorporate the American Flyer name in it.

They were very popular and there are numerous reasons for it. They were quite cheaper then some other popular makes of model trains at the time and because they were also quite a bit more practical then more budget style model trains of the time.

Mr William Hafner draw out from the enterprise around 1913. He used the funds he had already made and set up his own corporation. Colemans American Flyer Trains. It did well for quite some time around the first world war. There was little to no competition at the time due to the war efforts. Right before the break out in 1938, the founders son with the same name,took over the business after his father died in 1918 traded the American Flyer to a firm called A C Gilbert Company. Gilbert already had experience in producing toys, but had never done so with trains.

At the same time he decided to moved the enterprise from Chicago where it was created to New Haven in Connecticut where he lived. He also begun to drastically re design the American Flyer and turned it into an S-scale model train in 1939. It is a copy of the popular O scale which is then the leader of the market.

The S-scale was much smaller then the O-scale and this made it more famous with enthusiasts as it needed less room to setup a decent track. The scale is 1:64, considerably smaller then the O-scale yet still very detailed and accurate.

He too made another change in 1946 that improved the realisticness of the American flyer more so. Model trains, electric model trains at that time had been run on 3 rail tracks. Not virtual. He adjusted it so they ran on 2 rail tracks, much like their big counterparts. These tracks had 7/8th inches 'tween every rail. This made the trains run better as well.

How ever, television was starting to take hold at this time also. This distracted many from their hobbies they would normally spend their extra time on. Likewise at this time, discount chain stores came into play, discounting train sets that organizations like A C Gilbert could not compete with. in 1962, Gilbert traded the American Flyer to Wrather Group. This organisation produced toys as well, but usually on a huge scale and tended to make poor quality as well. Sales of course fell through the floor and in 1967 the corporation went bankrupt.

A better toy train maker and the market leader at time, Lionel Corporation purchased the American Flyer. This company itself was having difficulty with finances as well and they too went bankrupt in 1969, so they sold off the rights to the American Flyer to another manufacturer, General Mills.

This firm, General Mills, started selling some of the designs of the original designed Gilbert American Flyer, it how ever sell everything it purchased from at that time Lionel Corp to Kenner, who then in turn sold the company to a man named Richard Kughn. This occurred in 1985.

Mr Richard Kughn had great success with the firm and design for 11 years, but he sold out in 1996 to a enterprise known as Wellspring Partners, who then took on the first name of Lionel and called themselves Lionel LLC, which still operates today.

They sell the S-scale American Flyer still. They were actually concentrating on selling other scale models, but in 2002 they started selling more and more of the American Flyer.

Dirty Dancing Tickets With Amazing Grace

The film Dirty Dancing came out in 1987, and its story takes place even earlier, but this deceptively titled little masterpiece took the moviegoers of the world by surprise. With a cast of characters played by relatively unknown actors, and not much of a budget, it has proven to be a continuing delight. The fact that it has grossed over $300 million and set a record of more than a million sales of home videos might tell you something. The fact that it engendered two multi-platinum albums and untold singles tells you even more.

For those of us who watched Dirty Dancing on the big screen when it was first released, watching it today is almost heartbreakingly nostalgic. The story takes place, after all, in 1963, "before Kennedy was assassinated", and when it seemed the world retained its innocence. Jennifer Grey plays Frances Houseman, known to everyone as "Baby", and not minding it at all. Patrick Swayze is Johnny Castle, the street punk who has the moves as the dance instructor at the resort.

The Housemans are V.I.P. guests at Kellerman's Resort in the Catskills, on a three-week family vacation. Dr. Houseman, the personal physician of the resort's owner, his wife (not quite as staid as she first appears), 17 year old Baby and Lisa, her older and trying- to-be-superior sister all have some living and learning to do. Baby sets the stage by accidentally getting involved with the "No Guests Please" resort staff.

Johnny Castle is very much a ladies' man, but until he meets Baby, he has only been using and being used by women. When his dance partner gets a botched abortion, unknowingly financed by Dr. Houseman at Baby's insistence, and she has to call her father to save the dancer's life, the doctor assumes that Johnny is the guilty party and forbids his daughter to have anything further to do with "those people".

However, the 17-year-old girl has fallen in love as she is learning how to do the intricate and flamboyantly sensual "dirty dancing" that Johnny is so good at teaching. Johnny, in turn, is discovering that among all the women who pursue him, he has never met one like Baby. As they develop mutual trust, they also learn to dance together. And oh, how they dance! With the Foxtrot and Potato Sack Races in the background, these two reach the heights!

Meanwhile, the Foxtrot and badminton go on, but other dramas are playing out. Lisa confides to Baby that she's planning to "go all the way" with Robbie. Baby knows that Robbie is the father of Penny's aborted child, but their father thinks Johnny is the culprit. When Johnny is accused of theft by one of his many female "conquests" - she's seen him with Baby - he is assumed guilty by almost everyone. Baby knows, and this time Frances tells the truth. Frances, as Johnny tells her, is "a grown-up name".

Everybody grows up in this film, in one way or another. It's a triumph of love, with Johnny coming back to the resort for his traditional "last dance" of the season, even though he has been fired. When he pulls Baby out onto the stage - from her family's table, and in front of the whole Kellerman assembly, the "dirty dancing" they perform is truly a dazzling sight to behold, and indeed the entire audience is on its feet and dancing in the aisles.

As it becomes clear that the movie's title involves a few different but cohesive elements, the experience becomes even more enjoyable. The plot is simple, but the action is believable and in the case of the dance scenes, beautifully choreographed by (also then unknown) Kenny Ortega. "Dirty" is the farthest thing from the feeling you will get from this sensual but never sleazy display of youthful energy and abandon.

The movie translates well into the Broadway stage production also. The stage musical adaptation of Dirty Dancing has played to enthusiastic theatre goers in Germany, England, Canada and even Australia, and is still showing in London. If you move fast you can still see the touring production of the musical in Boston, but it is scheduled to close March 15th of this year. If you haven't caught this show in a theatre or on stage, you ought to get the video - it's too good to miss!

This tool is simple but ingenious. It consists of a circular blade connected to a handle and protected by a sliding shield. You hold the handle in your hand, and press down while rolling the cutter. It is so quick and easy. It is also safe when some basic precautions are taken.

Caution: The rotary cutter is super sharp and will cut. Always keep safety first. Keep the protective shield over the blade until you are ready to cut. Always use proper techniques. Keep away from children. Do not run with cutter in hand.

Use only sharp rotary blades. Replace dull or nicked blades. There are sharpeners available, but it is recommended to replace blades and avoid problems. Avoid cutting over pins, paperclips, staples, odd, and other things. When storing the tool, keep the shield over the blade.

Maintain the rotary cutter in peak conditions at all times. Keep it clean. Avoid oils, lint, debris, and pins.

Hold the rotary cutter snugly in your hand with your index finger aligned with the blade as a guide so you have full control. Avoid tensing your wrist.

Use the rotary cutter exclusively on a fully supported cutting surface. Never use a rotary cutter without its rotary cutting mat. Use the cutting mat on a stable cutting table capable of supporting the cutting process.

Position your cutting area on top of a self healing rotary cutting mat: free of debris, material lying flat and smooth.

Non slip rulers are great, and you can add a non slip surface to the back of rulers if desired. Always use a rotary cutting ruler whenever you are making long and/or straight cuts.

Place the clear ruler edge exactly where you want to cut. Keep grainline in mind when setting your ruler to achieve the best possible cut. Place the rotary cutter blade beside the ruler with the handle rising up at its recommended angle (varies depending on the design of the cutter). Pull the Safety lever back exposing the rotary cutting blade. The blade should line up with the ruler, but not cut into it.

Properly position your body, your hands, your arms, and your feet for optimum cutting control and comfort. Avoid reaching. If you are too tall or too short to cut on the table, fit the table height before cutting. If you slip, fall, or otherwise move, it will mess up your cut. Position your support hand on the ruler to keep it in place.

Again, never reach in an clumsy manner. Using a non slip ruler makes it easy to walk your support hand along the ruler while you cut. The procedure is easy to do. When you feel uncomfortable with your reach, stop the cut. Do not move the ruler or the cutter. Move your support hand forward to a comfortable support position and start cutting again. Keep steady pressure on the cutter to the end of the cut.

As soon as you finish the cut, slide the safety guard over the blade. Keep it covered whenever it is not in use. Store rotary cutters away from children.

His problem is that he honestly believes he is this super hero dog with superpowers. When he is accidently put into a real life situation, he realizes that he is only a normal dog. Now, trying to get back home, he finds help, in the form of a cat named Mittens, and an overweight hampster named Rhino.

THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: Just one year has passed in there "regular" lives, when Edmund, Peter, Susan, and Lucy are teleported back to Narnia. Prince Caspian has blownn Susan's magic horn, praying that he will be saved. In their one year at home, centuries have passed in Narnia, but they have been called back to rescue Narnia from an evil fate. With the aid of the the bravest in the forrest, including, a dwarf, the centaurs, and a very skilled mouse, they battle to free Narnia.

WANTED: Wesley, an office worker going nowhere in life, learns that the father he never knew, is a professional killer. His father is killed, and now he is being recruited into the secret society of killers that his dad was a member of. He is transformed from a nobody office worker into the asassin that is in his blood. After that, everything becomes extremely complicated. Enjoy the ride.

THE DARK KNIGHT: Batman, and Lt. Gordon and D.A. Harvey Dent, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. This has effectively reduced crime, until a new criminal mastermind shows up, and starts a crime spree. Batman has his work cut out him now, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released an overwhelming assault on Gotham City.

TWENTY ONE: The basis for this film is the actual tale of young college kids who created a team of blackjack players that beat the casinos. These wiz kids planned, trained, and executed a ruthless attack on the tables. To play in Las Vegas, where card counting can get you banned, they devised signals, disguises, and even fake drivers liscenses, to keep from being banned. This movie is based on the best selling book that explains how these kids took it to the casinos.

10,000 B.C.: This movie sends us back almost 12,000 years. When mysterious warlords from another tribe attack the Yaghai's, they ride off with some of the people, including the lovely Evolet. D'Leh, a young hunter who loves Evolet, organizes a band of hunters to chase down these warmongers, and rescue Evolet and the others.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: Wild and crazy nights in Las Vegas are normal. Barely remembering what had happened, Jack and Joy wake up to discover that they are married. They wind up winning a large jackpot at the slot machines, but each thinks they deserve the prize, so they try to settle it in court. It is decided that they must stay together for six months, and see if they can settle their differences. With $3 million on the line, the battle is on as both want to get the money for themselves.

WALL-E: This picture is an animation comedy. Everyone has been removed from Earth because it had become a big pile of trash. Wall-E, a trash collecting robot, is assigned to clean up the mess. When a recon bot (Eve) appears, checking for any signs of life, Wall-E finally has some company. When Eve is retrieved by the spaceship that sent her, Wall-E stows away, and starts an incredible adventure.

The Playstation 3 has to be the best Playstation Sony has ever released. It not only offers consumers a solid gaming console, but it stands as a Blu-Ray disc player as well. It has hoards of new technologies; the Playstation 3 can finally stand proudly next to other gaming consoles.

The Playstation 3, like other gaming consoles, comes with a variety of hard drive sizes. The bigger the drive, the more functionality the unit has. Offering different consoles gives consumers the ability to choose how much they want to spend and what exactly they want with their console.

Take for example, the 80GB console. This console supports many of the older PS2 games - meaning you can play these old games on the new console. The 40GB console - on the other hand - does not support PS2 games. (The 60GB console supports more PS2 games than the 80GB does; however, it has been discontinued.)

You can connect your new PS3, to your home network, via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. In addition to an Ethernet port, the PS3 also has an HDMI output, SPDIF, and Playstations AV output (for analog audio and video).

The design, of the PS3, is definitely eye catching. It is only 12.8 x 3.8 x 10.8-inches in diameter, and weighs only 11 pounds. It has a shiny black casing, with chrome accents. Along the front of the box is a front-loading optical drive. Simply slide in your game, DVD, or Blue-ray disk, and you entertainment begins. The PS3 is a nice addition to any home theatre system.

Also along the front are four USB ports. These ports are designed for charging your controllers; however, are also used for connecting to any USB device (keyboard, mouse, camera, jump-drive, etc). You will also find slots for CompactFlash, SD Memory Card and Memory Stick Duo card, within a small compartment on the front casing of the console.

You only get one controller with the console. However, they are now wireless! Simply plug the controllers into one of the USB ports for charging. This is the only time you will need to have obtrusive cords protruding out of the front of the PS3.

Not only did Sony make their controllers wireless, but they also implemented motion sensitivity technology. The controllers can detect six different motions: forward, backward, left, right, up, and down. Different movements will perform different actions, which is dependent upon the game that you are playing. (An added bonus, the motion sensitivity can be turned off if you do not feel like messing with it.)

The PS3 also now has multi-media functionality. Image slide shows, music, and movies can all be stored - and watched - directly on the device. (The most common image, audio, and video file formats are supported.) The PS3 can also be used to stream media through, if you do not want to take up your hard disk space.

The price range will vary based on the hard drive size that you are looking for. However, you can expect to pay around $400 for an 80GB PS3. Taking into consideration all of the multi-media functionality, and the gaming aspect, it is not a bad price. Sony has put a lot of work and thought into the PS3 and it appears to be paying off with consumers.

My Bloody Valentine 3D Hardcore Movie Review

I have been hoodwinked by Hollywood so many times that it is ridiculous. Do you remember Jaws 3D? That had to be one of the worst movie that was ever created. I could have created better visual effects by farting in the bath tube. Needless to say I was expecting the same type of crap from My Bloody Valentine 3D. Boy was I wrong. I have to give this movie not one but two thumbs up and a punch in the face.

Every since the very first blind date, horror and romance have been intertwined like Keanu Reeves and bad acting. As most of you know My Bloody Valentine is a remake. In most instances a remake is a huge mistake and you are left wanting to shoot the bastard that came up with the idea to remake the movie in the first place.

Normally the rule of thumb is that remakes suck. This defiantly isnt the case with My Bloody Valentine 3D. The brilliant minds behind this technology have knocked this one out of the park and right into the laps of the viewers.

WARNING: Make sure that you use the bathroom before going to watch this movie. Once you get their you will be spending the majority of your time ducking large pickaxes, bobbing flying bullets and diving out of the way from falling tree limbs.

Im not by any stretch of the imagination saying that the 3D is perfect. There are obvious times where the 3D seems a bit gimmicky because the story forces its occurrence of projectiles. However the majority of the times the 3D is spot on.

As most of you know nudity and horror movies go together like Britney Spears and cupcakes. However with most horror films you only get what I like to refer to as peek-a-boo nudity. Now you see it, now you dont. Not with My Bloody Valentine 3D baby! You get the full on all out breast in your face nudity. Actually you get way more than that, BUT I am trying to keep this site as clean as I possibly can.

I would like to take a few seconds to address those in charge of distribution and marketing for this film. I have a few questions that I would like the answers too. Will this movie be released on DVD? If so will the DVD be in 3D? If so will the DVD come with the glasses? Just encase I decided to keep my 3D glasses from the movie theater.

Ok its time that I take the gloves off! Lets get down to the real matter at hand To bootleg or not to bootleg that is the question that my readers want to know. I must say NO WAY HOMIE! This bootleg is worth the price of admission. In fact I think that we should all get a discount or at least an apology from movie theaters for over charging us for all of the other crap movies. I doubt if anything happens, it is just a suggestion.

Personally this movie is worth the cost of admission. I wouldnt mind paying the high ass price of $29.99 when it comes out on DVD or if it comes out on DVD. That is as long as it came with the cool 3D glasses.

How Blu-ray Originated

Presently, the available high definition medium is Blu-ray. Although the majority of the population is aware of this, they are not knowledgeable on the actual history.

Before high definition discs could be thought of, there had to be high definition. It was in 1998 that HDTVs became commercially available, but the market did not have any compatible products to go with the new TVs.

The problem was that available media could not hold enough data to accommodate the HD format. The solution was simple; use a different type of laser that would enable higher densities of data to be stored. The best way to do this would be with a blue laser, which had a shorter wavelength than current lasers on the market.

Blue lasers already did exist, but they were prodigious and costly. The creation of blue laser diodes enabled blue lasers to be used in a commercial setting. This was the key that allowed Blu-ray and HD DVD to be developed.

The introduction of blue laser diodes was quickly capitalized on. Sony and Philips started a temporary partnership to utilize the new technology. UDO and DVR Blue preceded the onset of the final product, Blu-ray disc.

These predecessors were worked on for two years before, in February 2002, Blu-ray was officially announced. To promote the new format, the Blu-ray Disc Association was formed and consisted of just nine integral members.

Although Blu-ray was announced in 2002, it was not until 2004 that the physical specifications were complete. In addition, prior to 2005 Blu-ray discs had to be kept in a protective case to prevent scratching, but a coating was implemented to protect the discs and eliminate the need for a case.

All the work put in to Blu-ray paid off. The disc type is now the premier HD format, and Blu-ray sales are climbing continually. There is no telling what further innovations are impending, but they will surely be exciting.

With the odds stacked against him, and everything at risk, Speed Racer teams with his former adversary Racer X, in an effort to capture the championship, and rescue the family racing business.

I have just finished watching the second episode of the new FX show "Son's of Anarchy". I have been a fan of the FX Show "The Shield" for years and I have to say, I have enjoyed "Sons of Anarchy" so far. The show has cool bikes and lots of action!

As a Member of an Outlaw Motorcycle Club, I have already seen many mistakes in the show. One thing that's really surprising to me is how people have reacted to the show and me personally. People who know I'm a member of a Motorcycle Club are asking me, "You guys aren't like that, are you?" Some of these people have known me for years! Now after a couple of episodes of "Sons of Anarchy" their wondering if I'm leading some kind of double life.

Can you imagine if a show about criminal killer Florists came out? How many people would ask the local florist if they where really like that? One fact of life about being a Biker I have come to except is, it's real easy for people to think of Bikers as the bad guys. It has always been and probably always will be that way. I wonder how many Cops had people ask them the same question when the Shield came out? I also wonder how many Police Officers who watch the Shield and know that show is fiction will watch "Sons of Anarchy" and think that's how Motorcycle Clubs really are! The FX show "Sons of Anarchy" is fiction and it is way over the top.

Son's of Anarchy is going to shine a bright light into the Motorcycle Club world. Where as the last ten years have been all about Custom Motorcycle Builders and has led to a lot of people getting into Motorcycle Riding, I believe the next ten years will be all about Motorcycle Clubs. Now this show could be a great thing for Motorcycle Clubs if, in-between all the fictional action, it also focuses on the bond of Brotherhood Motorcycle Clubs are really based on.

Although there is opportunity for "Sons of Anarchy" to make a positive statement about Motorcycle Clubs, I have a feeling the show will have a negative impact on Clubs, Independent Bikers, and the Motorcycle Community in general. By highlighting the good Motorcycle Clubs do and the positive impact that they have on their communities, I don't think that is the way the program is going.

All the Motorcycle Clubs out there are going to need to keep their eyes wide open and watch any new prospects. MCs need to make sure that new prospects are there for the Brotherhood and betterment of the Club and the community. You don't want prospects to try and live out some misguided fantasy they may have seen on TV or in some Movie. Another huge concern of mine, people who will just go out and throw on a set of patches and think they are the "Sons of Anarchy". The Motorcycle Club world is all about Respect. There is a serious protocol that is followed by all Motorcycle Clubs. I would not recommend violating that protocol in any way.

Motorcycle Clubs have spent the better part of the past 20 years working hard to shake the old biker gang stereotype of the 60's and 70's. Now that we have come so close to accomplishing our goals, a show like "Sons of Anarchy" or the upcoming HBO show 1% are here to try and drag our image back into the gang image. How far will these shows set us back? 20-30 Years? I am asking the producers of these shows, there sponsors, and everyone else out there to please remember that Brotherhood is what the Motorcycle Club world is truly about.

Every year In a Little Town in New York called Ridge, On a Big Sandbar known as Long Island, Hundreds of Bikers who have only Antique Motorcycles on their minds. Gather to attend The Big Sandbar Chapter of The Antique Motorcycle Club of America,Inc's annual "Winter Blues Swap meet" at the Ridge Firehouse. As I entered I was greeted by two lovely Lady's. I told them who I was and they where happy to tell me about the Big Sandbar Chapter of the AMCA. I was told how the AMCA considers any Motorcycle 35 years or older an Antique.

1. Countryside

The subject of being free and greenery is universal. People find them attractive because the image gives them the illusion of sitting through that moment when the picture was captured and a split-second escape of their current place. The more natural your image looks the more it is inviting to the audience. Capture that lush green grasses and trees, how fluffy the nonchalant clouds under the blue wide sky, or even the nightingale sitting atop the cow. Also, try to stray away from the generic angle or position. Why not capture the shots while youre lying in the ground to make the view out of the ordinary?

2. Food

Now this one is for the photographer who wants an automatic head turn towards his work. The Basics Of Altering Sleeves

My daughter found this super deal " 75% off of a pretty blouse. The problem was that there was a small tear on one sleeve. I suppose she could have tried repairing the tear, but she decided it would be better to just shorten the sleeve. Unfortunately, while my daughter sews some, she lacked the confidence to shorten the sleeve herself.

Interestingly, my husband David and I were in our closet at home. David was looking for a clean shirt. It has turned hot here in Texas, I mean hot. He realized that he did not have a decent short sleeved shirt. So, we decided to shorten the long sleeved shirts, and maybe this fall we will buy a whole new wardrobe of long sleeved shirts.

There are many needs to alter a shirt. Wear and tear often ruin a shirt sleeve, but as a short sleeved shirt, it would be fine.

A sleeve can be changed in many ways. You can vary the length significantly from sleeveless to short sleeve to three quarter sleeve length. You have many options to embellish the sleeve with lace, frills, or cuffs. It is a project that you can have real confidence doing if you follow some very basic steps.

First, determine the sleeve length you want. If you are hesitant, try on a couple of other shirts, until you find one that fits the way you like.

Step Two, calculate the sleeve length using your tape measure. Start at the upper should seam and measure to the point you have chosen. Then beginning at the under arm seam, measure to the same place on the underside of the sleeve. Be sure to add for finish, seam allowance, and cuff if desires. Add one and a half inches to each measurement.

Step Three, cut straight across the sleeve between the outer and under measurement marks.

Step Four, remove the stitching along the inside of the sleeve to the underarm seam. Keep in mind that the shape of the sleeve tapers. You will need to carefully reshape the sleeve to avoid binding under the arm. To accomplish this, seam on the inside of the sleeve along the taper.

The inch and a half of fabric to be used for the hem, must be cut and sewn with an angle opposite to accommodate the taper so that when it is folded under it will not bind.

Fifth, turn under ", and press. Fold again 1, and press. You may either topstitch this hem or blind hem. Examine the blouse or shirt carefully. Is there any top stitching around the collar or down the front of the shirt? If there is topstitching, topstitch the sleeve. If you find that there is no apparent top stitching anywhere on the shirt, you will need to stitch the sleeve together with a blind hem.

If you plan to use a blind hem, you can accomplish your sewing using you sewing machine blind hem stitch with its appropriate blind hem foot. Or if you plan to do many hems, there is a great specialty machine called a blind hemmer that produced a professional blind hem perfect for sleeves, slacks, dresses, skirts, wherever you may need a blind hem.

Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell acting as these two idiots, and you have the ingredients for a very fun film. This movie is a must see if your looking for some laughs.

TROPIC THUNDER: With a star studded cast we soon see this movie is a classic spoof. To get a realistic performance from the over rated cast of actors to create a quality war film, the frantic, and abused, director Damien Cockburn into the wild, leaving them to fend for themselves. The object is to shock them so they will produce a work of genius, which hidden cameras will capture. Incredibly, because the director blows up on an old French land mine, the crew is left on its own, and they think there acting, but things are getting very, very real. Written, directed, and acted in, by Ben Stiller.

Living in the country we have come to expect seeing different species of animals. Deer occasionally grace our presence. Of course, once we are seen by them they quickly disappear. One day as I was looking out a back window there were 7 or so wild turkey. After flying away, they have not returned. Many different birds come to our three feeders. Sunflower seed is spread on the ground for the doves and squirrels. Cardinals and smaller birds also search for food on the ground but the smaller ones mostly enjoy the feeders with their perches. We started throwing it on the ground to keep squirrels from eating the plastic off our original bird feeders. Now we have "squirrel proof" feeders that do a good job of keeping them from the food contained within.

Living in the country there is plenty of land for all God's creatures. A wooded area begins within thirty feet of the rear of our house providing food and protection for wildlife living there.

What we didn't expect happened early one morning in the summer. With me being a sound sleeper, I could not imagine what my wife was saying at 2 in the morning. My glasses with thick lenses were on a table beside the bed, where I had left them before I laid down to sleep. A ceiling fan was on chasing the heat away. Barely awake I could see something attached to the fan, circling with the fan blades. Once, the object made oblong path around the fan. Another attempt, nothing! Finally, my wife said, "you caught him." Now what do I do? Do I take him, still wrapped up, to the outside? Do I open the towel and hope he flies away? I opted for throwing the towel out the window and hoping he flew away.

With the windows now closed we opened the bedroom door to our two cats' right there wondering why we had locked them out! Lying back down, it was difficult to return to slumber land.

The next morning I went outside to retrieve the towel, wondering what I would do if the bat was still wrapped inside. Fortunately, he was gone. We are still wondering how he came into the house and chose our bedroom.

Have fun JR he laughed as Kyle looked around the loud Smokey bar. The walls where covered in Biker posters and Hundreds of different stickers from Bike Shops, other Bars and Club Support stickers. The place was packed with many large Bikers; some had patches on their back showing they belonged to one club or another. There where five really great looking girls in very tight skimpy outfits Dancing on the Bar, on a different night in a different time I might have really enjoyed this place he though, as the first smile in a long time crossed his face. The smile only lasted a second as some drunk walked into him growling "watch where I'm walking boy" as he went past walking to the back of the bar heading towards the bathroom.

Kyle started thinking maybe I'm in over my head here as he saw most of these Bikers where much larger then him. One large Biker standing by the corner of the bar really stood out to Kyle, The guy had to be at least 6'ft 10in tall and over 300 lbs all of it muscle, he was wearing a long Black leather trench coat that went to about an inch from the floor, He had long golden blond hair that made him standout even more in the dark bar. Kyle felt as if this man was trying to warn him with his eyes. Kyle suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder and was spun around, he felt the wind get knocked out of him as he was punched in the gut harder then he had though possible. Four large Bikers grabbed him and pulled him towards two large doors in the back of the Bar. One of the Men kicked open the doors that lead to an alley out back. They dragged Kyle threw the doors and then tossed him to the ground. As he looked up he saw a large muscular Bald Black man about 6ft 2inches tall, wearing a black leather vest way to small for him. He had no shirt on underneath showing the world just how many muscles he had, lighting a cigar. He smiled at Kyle and then kicked him hard in his gut knocking the wind out of him once more. Boy you are about to learn a very valuable life lesson, unfortunately you isn't going to live long enough for it to do you no good! Boy you never tell your enemy you are coming for him! An you go an do it on National TV. What was you thinking? Yeah said Kyle while trying to catch his breath. I realized that was probably not a good idea about two seconds after I did it. Kyle got a very serious look on his face as he said; I'm here to kill you Bob! You know that Right? Kyle stood up and pulled out a gun with the speed of an old west gun fighter. Badass Bob huh? How bad you feel right now with a Gun pointed at your head? Actually Boy I feel just fine! A split second later before Kyle could pull the trigger he found himself back on the ground with a large throbbing bump on the back of his head, one of Bob's men had hit him hard with a crowbar. Kyle felt himself slowly passing out and the world going black around him, He could see Bob and his men standing over him smiling, they all had Guns in their hands. This is it Kyle though to himself now I die and my Fathers killer goes free! Just don't seem right, where is the Justice in this world? Just Before the world went completely black and Kyle passed out, He could have sworn he saw a streak of Gold pass overhead and heard the sounds of someone fighting!

Scene 3 As Kyle woke he could feel a throbbing in his head,He could feel a large bump with his hand on the back of his head where he had been hit. He was laying on a couch in a room that was very bright. As he rolled over to look around the room he spoke the words "Where am I". He was Surprised when he got the answer, Your still in the land of the living, So I would not worry about anything else right now! As Kyle looked to see who had spoken the words, he could see it was the large Golden haired man he had thought was warning him at the Bar. As Kyle looked around the room he could see there where other people in the room with them, They all looked like hardcore Bikers and on one of the walls he could see a banner hanging, on it where the words GUARDIANS OF EVIL MC .....

Saving Gabbi : The Heart of a Child

There maybe no greater thing people can do in this world then saving the life of a child. We rely on Doctors and medicine to cure diseases most of us just do not understand. Doctors work very hard and do the best they can with what they have learned, But I believe the real cure is hope! A sick person must believe they are going to get better and know that there are many people out there doing the same.

I met a beautiful little 10 year old girl named Gabriella. Gabbi has been diagnosed with a rare Blood disorder called Aplastic Anemia.What this means is that her Bone marrow is not producing new blood cells to replace the old ones. Without treatment this could mean the end of young Gabbi's life.

David Negron,President of the MU Foundation an Organization who's motto is "We help kids fight back" Decided to take on the task of not only raising money for Gabbi's treatments but raising what is most important hope. On September 30th 2008 David and his staff called upon the Motorcyclists of the Long Island NY area to take a ride with them out to Martha Clara vineyards in Riverhead. and with around 100 Motorcycles in attendance they rode out on a bright sunny Sunday. Where they did just a little wine tasting.

Then it was off to the Celebration at Brennans in Hauppauge, Where all the Riders where welcomed to some great Bar-B-Q, Live Music by a band I really enjoyed 3 on 6 (3on6.tripod.com) and all where greeted by a Smiling Gabbi and her Familiey. I spoke with Gabi and her family, they told me about how Allie (Gabi's 13 year old Sister) had recentley given Gabbi some of her Bone Marrow. I could not help but laugh as I read what Allie had written on the back of the T-shirt she had received from the Hospital after the transplant " I donated my Bone Marrow and all I got was this Stupid T-shirt"

The Family seems very optimistic of Gabbi's full recovery and I could see why, one look in Her eyes and anyone could tell Gabbi has the strength most men brag about having! This Benefit was a huge Success and with the Money raised from the run and all the Raffles over $5000 is going directly to Gabbi and her Family! Riddles and indirect-thinking

Some riddles are a form of indirect-thinking question. To answer them, you have to move laterally in your mind, away from the expected guesses. This is especially true of funny riddles. What did the others do when the cannibal was late for dinner? They gave him the cold shoulder, of course.

Then there are the riddles that aren't really jokes, but they make you laugh when you hear the answer. If an airplane crashes on the border of the U.S. and Canada, in which country do they bury the survivors? They don't bury survivors, of course. Laughter is good for the brain. Okay, I am waiting for the research on that, but it will be proven someday.

Which Celebrity can You Most Identify With?

Who is your favorite celebrity? I know that people often read about celebrities and psychics at the same time. I think that its incredible that people find it appealing to connect with celebrities as if they know them personally. I often hear people saying, Did you know that Oprah broke up with Steadman? Or I think Paris Hilton lost too much weight. These are just some topics out of thousands that I have heard about celebrities. Its amazing to me because 99% of all people will never meet the celebrity that they know so much about.

All that they really know about them is what they read about them in the magazine or newspaper. I think that it is funny because most people have no idea that they have the power to control their celebrity fantasy. I think that some people enjoy reading about celebrities because they believe that they may one day meet that person.
