It is sometimes hard to relax in this day and age. We are plagued by the curse of efficiency, and it shuts us into a world of repetitive tasks. It could really feel depressing at times.
If you're inclined to agree with me, then perhaps it is a good time to start doing something different. Let me start by asking you a question: What did you enjoy doing as a child? What did you find fun and relaxing?
Maybe you had aspirations of becoming a painter. With a brush and pigments, you captured the world on canvas with a palette of well-chosen colors. Maybe you had an eye for turning other people's trash into items of quirky elegance and offbeat trinkets. You may have had skills at changing a mundane object into a marvel. Or perhaps you shone in the kitchen with culinary delights.
Now, don't look at me like that! Of course you have talent! Everybody does; it's just sad at how some people refuse to acknowledge that as part of their skill set. Oftentimes, the talent simply gets neglected. Do not let this happen to you. If you haven't practiced whatever it is that you feel you can be good at in a long time, then it's time to pick up the slack! What's there to lose? It's not like you'll show it to other people at first.
However, once you get the hang of it, you eventually will get the desire to. You'll want to show people your stunning crafted works; as people are either their own worst critics or their very own number one fan. Once you've started thinking you've created a masterpiece worthy of praise, it's time to test the waters and find another set of eyes. The same goes if you find that you've created a horrible mess. A second opinion never hurts.
