This is a small selection of movie hits for 2008. I have chosen a few of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. I'm sure that you can find a picture or two that are good viewing.
THE DARK KNIGHT: This time Batman, along with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, are taking the major criminals off the streets. Things are going very well, until a new criminal mastermind shows up, and attacks the city. Batman has his work cut out him now, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released his criminal plots on the big city.
STEP BROTHERS: When two 40 year olds, who still live with their single parents, are going to live in the same bedroom because their parents marry, we see that they are bound to have problems. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell as the key players; It seems to be a great recipe for a funny movie. This movie is a sure fire bet if you?re looking for some laughs.
HAMLET 2: Unsuccessful actor Dana Marshz has settled into teaching the high school theater classes to uninspired high school kids. When they lose a building at the campus, the school board figures the theatre program will get the axe. Now fully motivated, he is determined to save the program by producing Hamlet 2, a sequel to the original work, which he put to paper himself.
TROPIC THUNDER: With a star studded cast this film is a parody of recent war movies. To recover from a lost cause, and to get his spoiled actors to make a first rate war movie, the now venturesome director puts them into the wild, leaving them to fend for themselves. His plan is to frighten them into producing a war classic, which will be caught on hidden cameras in the area. When the director blows up on an old French land mine, the actors are now truly on their own, and they are convinced everything is just an act, but things are getting very, very real. Stars include Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana is back in action, after a 19 year break. This is the latest film about the adventures of Indiana Jones. In this movie Mr. Jones battles the Soviets. This time everyone is searching for ancient relics called the Crystal Skulls, and the powers they might possess.
Jumper: Nearing death by drowning, David Rice (Hayden Christensen) learns he has an unbelievable ability. He has the ability to teleport himself to anywhere he desires to be, anytime he wants. He then comes to learn that he is not the only one that has this skill. After years of "jumping" around the planet, he finds out that there are those that think jumpers are a threat, and need to be eliminated. Now he is in a fight for survival, as these paladins believe he should die.
GET SMART: Agent 86, AKA Maxwell Smart is back, and everything is under "CONTROL". The evil organization (KAOS), vs. the good guys (CONTROL), agents hidden in plants, and the cone of silence. It's a trip down memory lane to look back at the 1960's spy spoof series.
IRON MAN: Playboy, engineer genius, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is kidnapped by Afghan rebels. They try to force him to build weapons for the insurgent group. He was wounded when his convoy was attacked, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To survive his injuries, and break away from his enemies, he creates a suit made of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man is born.
ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, who sell energy drinks, are going to see some hard jail time after destroying the company vehicle while binging. The option to get out of jail time is to perform 150 hours of community service. Their task will be to mentor troubled kids as sort of a big brother. The pieces are all in place for this to be very funny.
Many people will buy these movies, and watch them at home. A more recent method for getting films is by downloading them directly off websites. There are websites that will download tons of different movies.
