Star Wars Costumes For Adults And Children

By Susan West

Honestly, can you see ten "trick or treaters" skip by on Halloween night without a Princess Leia or Luke Skywalker popping up? Probably not. And this doesn't include all of the adult Queen Amidala or Darth Vader costumes. Finding the perfect adult or child star wars costume is relatively easy. It may be just a light year, or mini-mall away.

Adult Star Wars Costume Adult Star Wars costumes come in a vast array of choices, sometimes it can be difficult to choose just one. For instance, Chewbacca and the storm trooper costumes are a Halloween hit as well as many other interesting Star Wars characters. The awesome face makeup of Darth Maul is another popular adult Star Wars costume, especially with the men.

Adorable Child Star Wars Costumes Who doesn't get a warm feeling when they see a little Yoda cruise by? And what is cuter than all those little fuzzy Ewoks? The movie "Star Wars" inspires creativity and what better time to show that off then on Halloween night? If the Darth Vader costume seems a little spendy, go for it! Not only will you make little Jr.'s or Suzy's night, but most likely they will keep wearing it after the candy filled night is over.

Wigs and Helmets Wigs and helmets are amazing Halloween props and they work quite well with transforming someone into princess Leia or Luke Skywalker with their distinctive hairdo or X wing helmet. Star Wars wigs and helmets help to create a more convincing Star Wars costume for adults as well as children.

Yoda You can't talk about Star Wars without talking about the wise Yoda. Yoda is a popular kids' costume, mainly because Yoda is a little guy. However, even bigger kids are getting in on the game and slipping into a Yoda costume. Also, even though it is a typical child Star Wars costume, there are some available in adult sizes.

The Cute Couple of R2D2 and C3PO Aww . . . how cute! Now these two could readily be a great couple's costume! These characters work wonderfully as both child and adult star wars costumes. R2D2 and C3PO are just so loveable that come Halloween night, you're sure to see your favorite robots running around.

Darth Vader Costume Darth Vader, the dark force in Star Wars, is a popular character, figure and costume. This is a popular adult Star Wars costume because of the menace and drama that it creates. However, kids love Vader too. He is impressive, intimidating and downright scary!

Halloween and masquerades are the perfect time for children and adults costumes. Halloween offers the perfect time and setting for everyone to dress up in costume and enjoy the holiday. One of the most interesting things about costumes, especially Star Wars costumes, is the fact that they can be very simple or very complex. Considering that an Obi Wan Kenobi costume is quite simple while the Darth Vader costume is quite complex with its many intricate pieces. Actually, it depends on your Star Wars taste as to how or whom you choose to be your Halloween costume this year. Edited by Glinda Zuladra

Fake Money Used In Movies/videos

By Amy Nutt

In Hollywood's infancy, filmmakers used real money in their productions, only to run into legal and administrative problems such as workers stealing the money. At the time, very strict laws prohibited the filmmakers from copying, photographing or imitating American currency in any way. This presented Hollywood with a tricky problem. Always resourceful, filmmakers found a way around it.

At the time, there happened to be large amounts of devalued currency printed by the Confederates during the American Civil War and Mexican Money printed during the Mexican Revolution. Both failed governments had issued a lot of money, hoping the volume would help stave off the money's declining values. Of course, they failed and the money was useless until Hollywood bought up caches of both types of cash, and the first Hollywood prop money was created.

Over time, the Confederate and Mexican folding money wore out, and most of it was thrown away or lost. By then, laws governing the reproduction of fake currency had loosened somewhat. Prop-making manufacturers began to print false money.

Much of this early fake money is now available via specialty Hollywood memorabilia stores. The makers of this money often copied Mexican and Confederate designs and used deliberate misspellings like "Steats of Amreica" to be sure the money could not be passed off as real. Many of these designs are interesting and very beautiful to look at. Though the designers were making obvious fake money, they took the time to make it look great.

In more recent history, laws loosened even more and the stacks of prop dollars being printed by manufacturers became even more convincing. There have been several incidents where the Secret Service (which oversees American currency and stings counterfeiters) has stepped in and confiscated Hollywood prop money, and forced companies to discontinue printing it.

In one notable case, bills with a total face value close to $1 Billion was blown up during the filming of "Rush Hour 2" in Las Vegas. A significant amount of the fake money, which happened to be very convincing, drifted into crowds of people in Las Vegas. Knowingly and unknowingly, people began to use the bills. Large amounts of this money began turning up in the Las Vegas and Los Angeles areas. Many bills were being passed successfully.

As the incident grew more widespread, the Secret Service got involved and the company that produced the bills, Indepenedent Studio Services, Inc., became embroiled in legal trouble. The Secret Service deemed their fake money product too realistic and seized the prop money from ISSI's facilities. Evenutally the company had to stop printing fake money altogether.

Today, prop money is still widely available via memorabilia stores, prop suppliers, private collectors and online auctions. But this prop money is almost always obviously fake, with indicators printed on the bills. Also, much of this printable fake money is smaller than its real counterpart.

Amy has got what it takes to be a household name and a top class legend - if she can learn to control the drugs that is.

Chocolate, My Favorite Treat

By Louise Hill

The most frequently and widely craved food is chocolate. Chocolate has been in use for a long time as evidenced by remains of vessels with remnants of chocolate drinks dating around 1100 BC found in the lower Ulua Valley in northern Honduras. Xocolatl, which means "bitter water", is the name of a drink made from cocoa and known to the Aztecs and Mayans and chocolate is associated with the Mayan god of fertility.

Many nutrients are contained in chocolate including carbohydrates, fats, sugar, proteins, magnesium, and is a rich source of phosphorus. Much like wine and beer, one has to develop an appreciation for the richness of chocolate in order to appreciate the subtleties originating from the fruit or grain it is made from. Chocolate is used to enhance moods and is a symbol of sweetness and innocence. Chocolate is not an aphrodisiac, however it contains phenylethylamine (PEA), a natural substance that supposedly stimulates the same reaction in the body as falling in love. Chocolate is supposed to be heart healthy.even though it contains a lot of fat. It is a mild stimulant to humans because it contains theobromine.

A long, complicated refining process is required to make Chocolate. The process starts with the bitter cream-colored seeds that grow in pods of the tree Theobroma cacao. The seeds contain a family of compounds known as methylxanthines. The seeds come from the Cacao pod that grows year round on trees from South and Central America. Each pod holds 30 to 40 Cacao seeds and it takes 20 to 25 pods to get 2 pounds of cocoa. Average adult trees produce 300 to 1,000 pounds per year per acre of cocoa for about 50 years. Fats such as cocoa butter (natural vegetable fat from the cacao bean) and some sugar are combined with cocoa (which results from roasting and grinding the product) to get chocolate.

Chocolate is very sensitive to temperature and humidity and so it is best kept at around 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit, the normal temperature of a pantry or dark cabinet. The natural taste of the Cacao seed is bitter and must be fermented to develop the flavor. Chocolate is a special mixture of the cocoa solid with the cocoa butter at a specific temperature, and cooled down in a special way. Chocolate is tempered when its temperature is between 84deg F and 88deg F (29 deg and 31deg C). Making good chocolate is about forming the most of the type V crystals. Generally, the chocolate is first heated to 45 C (113 F) to melt all six forms of crystals. Then the chocolate is cooled to about 27 C (80 F), which will allow crystal types IV and V to form (VI takes too long to form).

When at this temperature, the chocolate is agitated which creates many small crystal "seeds" that will serve as nuclei to create crystals in the chocolate. Higher quality chocolate is conched for about 72 hours, whereas lesser grades only about four to six hours. A conche is an agitator that distributes evenly cocoa butter within the chocolate, and acts as a 'polisher' of the particles. In the process it promotes flavor development through frictional heat which releases volatiles.

At this point the chocolate is heated to about 88 F (31 C) which eliminates any type IV crystals, leaving just type V. The classic way of manually tempering chocolate is working the molten chocolate on a heat-absorbing surface, such as a stone slab, until thickening indicates the presence of sufficient crystal "seeds"; then gently warming it to working temperature.

Fancy chocolate candies have been the inspiration of artists that make wonderful yummy looking creative chocolate candies that are not for eating since they are made of either polymer clay, glass or textile mixed media.

Where Did Rock And Roll Actually Begin? You'll Never Guess

By Rick London

A small town ninety miles south of Jackson, Ms. called Hattiesburg, population about 100k, is the real birthplace of rock and roll. It is where I was born. It is well-documented in many prestigious hard copy and online periodicals

Not that Wikepidia is the leading authority on the topic, but here is their take: Birthplace of Rock and Roll

"It is a little-known fact that music scholars consider Hattiesburg to be the historic birthplace of rock and roll. [weasel words] As noted in the Rolling Stone Illustrated History of Rock and Roll, Hattiesburg was a recording location of Blind Roosevelt Graves and his brother, Uaroy Graves, who, along with piano player Cooney Vaughn, recorded two songs in 1936 that "...featured fully formed rock & roll guitar riffs and a stomping rock & roll beat." The Graves Brothers and Vaughn--performing as the Mississippi Jook Band--recorded the songs 'Barbecue Bust' and 'Dangerous Woman' for the American Record Company, reportedly at the Hattiesburg Train Station."

Why pray-tell did my naive community fail to capitalize on that and so many other cities and towns across America make it faux claims to such origins? Heaven knows. Maybe it didn't know better, perhaps it was embarrassed. I did not even know until years after I moved away. They've never even built a museum commemorating it. (It was always hard for folks to agree down there on much as I remember it).

Though Mississippi might not seem the logical place for roots of such music, just ten years after this claim, a young singer named Elvis evolved not far from Hattiesburg. He was from Tupelo, a town that is quite proud of him and his music. People simply called him "Elvis". History says Elvis was always a mannerdly soul who was reluctantly lured into such celebrity, but actually enjoyed "the creative process" much more than the fame and fortune, which, of couse, added much stress, that led to his final days.

But why shouldn't Mississippi be the birthplace of such a creative endeavor. It also brought us Elvis, also gave us B.B. King, John Grisham, William Faulkner, Willie Morris, and numerous other legendary greats in the poorest and least educated part of the United States.

Valentine's Day Can Be A Cure For A Stale Relationship

By Rick London

Even the best of lovers and spouses can feel trapped in a stale marriage or relationship as the years pass. Though we still love our mate, we might feel bored with the routine. Don't just rekindle the romance, or fan the flames, add kerosene to the fire of it, and use Valentine's day as a celebration of love, a reason to try something different, and then make it a habit, a new way of life to change the parameters and depth of the relationship. These tips are tried and true and have worked for many couples.

Find a reason to touch skin. Whether it is going dancing or giving each other a "private gift certificate" for a mutual massage that night. Don't just write the certificates, do it. Or really go dancing, slow dancing, or both. Hold hands and windowshop in the mall. A public show of affection can have a very positive long-lasting effect.

Prepare a gourmet meal for dinner. If you don't feel comfortable in the kitchen, find a recipe book or surf the net for some exotic dish. Don't tell your partner or spouse that you are planning it, only that you are going to cook because it is Valentine's day. They may be expecting a t-bone steak but this time try an exotic spicy ethnic dish, perhaps some wine, and candlelight with soft music in the background. If you feel uncomfortable in the kitchen, make a formal invitation to dress up and go out to an elegant little French bistro or Italian restaurant. Just make it fun and different than the regular routine meal. Watch her (or him) smile in amazement. Send a surprise gourmet lunch to your loved one's workplace. Order it over the phone, pay by credit card and send it from "A secret admirer". When your partner tells you of the gift, just smile or say "I love you, honey."

Try a slinky dress or evening gown and sexy underwear for the night. If you are a woman, perhaps a thong rather than your regular undergarments and perhaps a nice negligee over it (or no negligee at all, just the thong under your clothing. If you are a male, some sexy boxers.

Be imaginative Try one or a or even all of these things and it will not just rekindle the flame, but fuel the fire, and could add a whole new dimension for what might be the beginning of a whole new journey for the two of you.

How To Go About Downloading Rap Beats Online

By hipster

Here is a quick guide to buying and downloading rap beats online. By following these suggestions you are likely to avoid some of the problems that sometimes arise for the unwary... whilst being able to more easily find the beats you want.

To begin with, you want to find a website that has the distinct sounding rap beats you want. Let's face it, there are numerous sites out there selling beats. And many of them just sound the same! So take your time and don't settle for anything less than the uniquely sounding rap beats you want. After all, this is your music we're talking about!

It doesn't have to follow that you pay for what you get in this industry. There are many fine upcoming new artists out there that simply because they are unheard of are letting their beats go for a lot less than if they were well known, and the beats are just the same if they are famous or not. Over time you can develop a relationship with the sellers and ask for a discounted price for your business especially if you are a regular buyer.

Are you looking to buy beats with an exclusive use license? This will allow you to have the beats all to yourself stopping anyone else from using the beat you have paid for. The price for this exclusivity will make the product higher in cost so you will have to be certain that this is what you really want. So what does an exclusive license get you? A unique sound that's what. Expect to pay around $100 to $1000 for a beat in this category and $15 to $50 for non exclusive rights.

You also want to only do business with someone you can trust. Now you may be either dealing with a site that sells beats on behalf of other artists or with an artist directly. By their very nature, large sites that sell beats are likely to be somewhat more professional and reputable. However, for the reasons given above, you don't want to rule out any individuals who make and sell their own rap beats just because they're not a major company.

It is a prerequisite for you to feel safer knowing their are contact details that are available from the selling websites. It is not impolite for you to send a small email to find out if they are monitoring their contact links/emails and ask an innocuous question, for instance it would be okay to ask about their refund policy or their delivery procedure etc. Getting a courteous response would make you feel more confident in doing business with them.

With many websites appearing almost overnight and just as many disappearing it would be wise to use all this information to protect yourself, but don't get so cautious that you can't get in there and get those beats. The Paypal system most of these sites use is a safe secure system that ensures your payment details are not stolen. The internet When all is said and done it is a great way for finding and downloading rap beats.

Utilizing Educational Cartoons In The School System

By Rick London

The children of our current generation, admittedly are more sophisticated than we were, we, being the baby boomer generation. We felt we were the most insightful generation ever. Of course every generation has its share of egotism. That was obviously prevalent in ours (the baby boomers)

Unlike religion or spirituality, education has no raptures, although there can be many "eureka moments" of learning. There are no born-again graduates. It is a process. It is a long-term process of the gaining of knowledge and skills that can be taken into adulthood, and, hopefully utilized.

What is now known as education began in Greece. It derived from the term "educare" which means "to pull out". Greek educators felt that young people already had the seed of knowledge in them, and a good educator simply spent time drawing that knowledge out, rather than pushing it in. Many, but of course not all, of today's educators are ego-driven and have forgotten the real meaning of education and use their teaching platform as a pulpit to share "their knowledge" and show it off. As was probably true in ancient history, is true today, there are good teachers and bad ones, those who push, or those who pull knowledge.

School children can be cynical, question authority, aware of their environment, and more often than not, are on the same stage as the teacher. They do not look at the classroom as some kind of "mystical experience" as our generation did. Sometimes they simply view it as a part of their day, and understand they are going through a process that helps them reach adulthood. Most of us, at least in my circle, hadn't really a clue as to why we were there. I only knew I was there so I could finish, go to college, be an adult, and repeat my parents lives. Those were my parameters dictated to me.

Distractions are paramount in today's schools. They can drive a rift between student and teacher. Children of today, like us, have shortcuts to knowledge, same as we (adults) do, such as the Internet. So it is not a surprise when the student is more updated than his or her instructor on a topic.

Generation after generation of both kids and adults still love humor. It is one thing that has not changed much. Many school systems and even book publishers are using educational cartoons to "lighten up the learning process" and even major textbook publishers are utilizing such cartoons in their books. And the kids are paying attention.

Their knowing that their instructor may enjoy a good laugh as well, helps bond the students to the teacher and can make the learning process that much easier. Humor is a great conflict-resolver as well.

The feedback we are getting at Londons Times Cartoons is very positive from both the school system and the textbook publishers. They often purchase the rights at a very low fee to use cartoons on ever topic from biology to pet care. They tell us it really makes a difference and I believe it.

First, you need to realize that "better" or "worse" are very relative terms. What one person can assess as better may not be the same for you. When it comes to downloading music for your iPhone, it is just the case. Most probably, you are looking for a particular selection of songs and a number of certain features. If you know what exactly you are looking for, you can save your time and find the best site for your needs.

If you also own an iPod, you would already be using iTunes to download iPhone music. There is no doubt that it offers a huge selection at reasonable prices. And for 99 cents per download, it is affordable to most people. And the quality is unquestionable. But for enthusiasts who cannot seem to be satisfied and need more songs, it can be costly for them.

So, if you want to be able to download iPhone music in an unlimited number, you will face two options: free share (or peer-to-peer) sites and paid membership sites. Perhaps, the only advantage of the first option is no cost involved. The disadvantages are plentiful: copyright violation, low quality and speed of download, the risk of exposing your computer to various malware, no proper customer support, and many more.

The other alternative is to go to the paid membership sites. They are not free but charge a reasonable one-off membership. It could be for a monthly, yearly or lifetime subscription. No matter which you choose, for the time period your subscription is on, you have the right to download iPhone music and enjoy as many songs as you like at anytime you wish. They do not bill you for new songs.

If you think that this fantastic offer will surely burn your pocket, you may be surprised to know that the membership fee normally doesn't exceed $50. Think what an awesome collection of music you can get for this ridiculous price and you will realize that the sum is actually nothing!

With dozens of membership sites online, the dilemma is always to find an ideal service to use to download iPhone music. First things first, we spoke about finding the site that offers your choice music genre. Another way to work around this is to immediately find one with so many genres and millions of iPhone downloads. There is almost a 99% certainty that you can find the music for your iPhone. Other factors to look out for would be if they provide free software and tools to convert the files into formats that are usable on your iPhone, as well as how easy the interface is and whether they constantly update their databases with the latest song releases.

If you want to download iPhone music legally, of good quality and as cheap as possible, paid membership sites are definitely the best option nowadays. Find out where are the best deals at my entertainment blog.

New Camcorder Tips - 5 Important Factors To Consider

By Jim Hofman

At the recent Consumer Electronics show, several new camcorder models were introduced, at various price points. These new camcorders help simplify video photography, as well as editing on your PC. Let's take a quick look at 5 key factors to consider before you buy that new camcorder.

Tip One: Ask Yourself What You Need

Some new 2008 models have introduced face detection technology, which reduces and auto corrects any face blurring and overexposure problems. Consider whether or not you're happy with the video you've been taking and factor that into your "must have" options. The same is true with high definition vs. standard resolution camcorders. It's all about what you feel you really can't live without.

Tip Two: Are You A Steady Hand?

A camcorder will always offer image stabilization technology. This technology overcomes a less than steady hand while shooting video, and is either electronic or optical. Optical image stabilization usually provides better results. Make sure you really need it by asking yourself if you're happy with electronic image stabilization commonly found in moderately priced camcorders. Also, be aware that optical image technology is slowly but surely becoming more affordable.

Tip Three: Long Timer Or Short Timer?

When you buy, you'll likely be offered the chance to purchase an upgraded battery. Here's the rule of thumb: If you normally shoot video for more than an hour at a time, the upgraded battery is probably worth the extra expense (usually $75 or so). Otherwise, the standard battery will be sufficient.

Tip Four: Large Or Small?

In general, the bigger the screen, the easier it'll be to see what you're recording. However, some larger screens don't work as well in bright sunlight, so ask yourself where you'll take most of your video. Do you tend to shoot more video indoors in consistent light levels, or outside where light can be inconsistent? The same is true if you take a lot of video in low light levels. If so, be sure you have the most appropriate shutter mode so your video doesn't turn out blurry.

Tip Five: How's The Microphone?

Most people use a camcorder to record sound as much as video. If sound and sound quality is important to you, consider a model with a zoom microphone. A zoom microphone will autmatically engage when the zoom lens mode is operating. This will minimize any sound coming from you as the video operator. In other models, it's quite common for your voice to completely drown out the voices of those you're videoing. A zoom microphone eliminates that problem.

If you're considering a camcorder purchase, be certain to fit your new camcorder with your usage pattern. It's one thing to own the latest bells and whistles, but quite another if you're paying for features you'll rarely use. Consider these and other buying tips to ensure you'll get the most productive use of your new camcorder.

Zune Music Downloads 101

By Davion Wong

The music scene is heating up with Zune music downloads becoming more and more popular each day. It seems that the slick and multi-functional player is getting a lot of attention lately. With so many of the devices sold, Zune music downloads are well sought after and offered by at least 3 main sources.

You can do a search on the internet for places where you can access to Zune music downloads. Quite often, you would come across free sites, paid sites or even the mainstream music sites like Zune Marketplace.

Which site is ideal for your digital portable device?

We will take a quick look at the various groups and study their pros and the cons. Price is one consideration though not the most important. We also want to look at whether the environment where we download music is safe and protected, the number of Zune music downloads, the clarity of the songs and also whether the instructions are clear and technical support is readily available.

The mainstream Zune marketplace is a huge database of over 3 million songs, music videos, videos and so on. The support is excellent and you are assured that downloading can be done safely without exposing your PC to any potential virus and malware. There are however 2 setbacks. One is you have to exchange the music with Microsoft Points. So each time you want the songs, you got to prepay. Also, a piece of music costs about $1.

Free sites make their Zune music downloads available to you for free. But since they do not cost a cent, you must prepare yourself mentally that no help will be around in case you need them. Also, you may have to contend with downloading in a totally unprotected environment where dangers like adware, spyware and PC viruses lurk. Be prepared for slow speed downloading as well.

We have our paid membership sites to consider. These sites work on a pay per membership model and offer top notch support. So for a membership fee of lesser than $49.99, you can download as many songs as you wish from millions of albums, music, music videos, songs and even movies. The download is safe and you do so in a protected environment. Another pro of these services is the high speed downloading which can be in the tune of hundred times faster.

Comparing all the alternatives, paid membership services take the crown for Zune music downloads in terms of reliability, convenience, speed and cost. Read a full review of some of the most popular sites where people are using to download music for their Zunes at my blog.

Satisfy Your Inner Wizard With Harry Potter Cross Stitch Kits

By Julia Wigham

J.K. Rowling reopened the wonderful world of wizardry to kids both young and old when her incredible work, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" was published in 1997. This series has been topping the favorites lists everywhere ever since. Many crafters have been searching for Harry Potter Cross Stitch Kits as a way to proudly display their love of these fascinating characters.

On cross stitch forums across the internet, you're likely to find people asking about Harry Potter cross stitch kits. They may even ask if anyone has created cross stitch patterns of their own, just to meet this desire for anything having to do with the popular book and movie series. Since there is such an outcry by Harry Potter cross stitch enthusiasts for patterns and kits, will there be a cross stitch kit manufacturer to step up to the plate and make them?

One person loved the series enough to create her own charts to be used for knitting and crocheting afghans. These patterns while not specifically made for cross stitch, could probably still be used to stitch a wonderful finished piece. By doing a general search on the Internet, I'm sure you would be able to find these graphs and patterns and maybe even join a group or two to share your love of Harry Potter craft projects, as well as just your interest in the series in general.

There are actually quite a few Harry Potter groups in the Internet crafting world. You must register for these groups before you can read or post anything. However, the plus sides to joining are that it's free, and it's a great way to maybe discover new patterns that you didn't know existed. People on these groups are usually really friendly, and it's a remarkable way to connect people from everywhere in the world by bringing them together to discuss their common interest. It's amazing to see how many people share the same love for Harry Potter.

There is a particular forum that can be found on The Leaky Cauldron online. The owners of the site have created several plastic canvas patterns, as well as the forum solely dedicated to Harry Potter. Although plastic canvas patterns can be used for cross stitch projects, the experienced stitcher probably won't be satisfied with the finished results they achieve from using one of these plastic canvas patterns.

A Frenchman, Frdrique Deviller, created an entire cross stitch booklet packed full with some 60 Harry Potter patterns including wizard symbols and each of the favorite characters. This booklet, produced by Mango Practique, and located at "Cross Stitch Direct" in Bromsgrove, UK, has become a rather rare collector's item for Harry Potter lovers of all ages. Although it is in high demand, it is hard to find, and there's a strong possibility it's no longer published.

Many stitchers prefer a kit containing all the necessary supplies for completing a project. At this point, there have not been any authorized Harry Potter cross stitch kits available. Several people have created Harry Potter cross stitch designs that they are selling on eBay. This might be your only option if you are looking for Harry Potter cross stitch patterns.

Hannah Montana Acoustic Guitar - Why So Popular With Young Girls

By Allison Thompson

There are several different Hannah Montana items you can buy, but the most popular selling one of them all is the Hannah Montana acoustic guitar. If you have just heard about the Hannah Montana craze, here is just what all the excitement is about.

Hannah Montana is a show screened on the Disney Channel that is geared toward tweens and girls in their early teenage years. Miley Cyrus plays the two main roles in the show; she plays the part of the famous blond singer, Hannah Montana. But, so that she can lead as normal life off stage as possible, she also goes by her real name, Miley Stewart, who incidentally has brown hair. It is only Miley's family and close friends who know that she is both Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana.

This is role is the first major one that has been given to Miley Cyrus who is 15 years old. The reason why the show is so popular is because Miley has a great voice and natural acting abilities make other girls relating to her easily. Certainly, there are no other young actresses around today who could bring to the show what Miley does.

The part of Miley's father is played by Billy Ray Cyrus, the world-renowned country singer who became famous himself in the early 1990's with the song "Achy Breaky Heart". In the show, he plays the part of a former rock star who now manages the career of his daughter when she takes on here alter ego of Hannah Montana. Hannah also has a brother Jackson (played by Jason Earles), and three best friends Lilly and Oliver (played by Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso, respectively), plus the very irritating, yet endearing, young friend Rico (who is played by Moises Arias) and all of who are young but talented.

But the difference with this TV show compared to many others available today is that it is aimed specifically at young people. So if you are looking for an enjoyable way to pass some time with your daughter and her friends why not get settled in front of the TV and watch it with them. The plots have clever twists to them and are extremely well thought out and even you are likely to find the show just as entertaining as your daughter and friends do. Plus it comes with dialog, details on teen life and teen clothing that give it a current up to date feel about it.

As you can imagine, this is the type of show that lots of young girls love. There is intrigue, music, great clothes, humor and friendships combined into the shows time frame. If you go to any store with a toy or kids department, you will soon see Hannah Montana toys, games, bedding, clothing, wigs, and of course the most popular item of all, the Hannah Montana acoustic guitar.

However, even if all this merchandise leaves you still doubting about the popularity of this Disney show and the craze it has caused then why not get yourself tickets for one of the concerts. Then you will really be blown away at just how talented Miley Cyrus really is. The "Hannah Montana Best of Both World Tours" that Disney launched took in 54 cities and if this seems all a little too ambitious, then think again because ticket sales have gone extremely well. In fact in some cases when the tickets have gone on sale for some venues they have been sold out in just a few minutes, making this one of the hottest concert tours in years.

As for their Hannah Montana Acoustic Guitar, Disney made sure that they had the best one made. This real musical instrument is made by the Washburn Guitar Company and is a size one so it is perfect for all those girls which fit in to its target age group. So if your daughter happens to be a Hannah Montana fan and is screaming to learn to play guitar then it might be wise to invest some money in some lessons and the Hannah Montana Acoustic Guitar for Her.

Quality Music Downloads For Iphone For Peanuts - Anyone?

By Davion Wong

All iPhone owners are probably looking for places where they can get music downloads for iPhone at cheap prices without compromising on the sound quality. While you can easily find songs at the major music stores, paying per download can really add up to an astronomical sum. Free centers are not the best option if you are looking for music downloads for iPhone because of problems like legality, unsafe environment and so on that are often found at their sites.

Right before you, there are 2 options. Music downloads for iPhone are offered by services on either a subscription basis (monthly or yearly) or through a one-time membership fee. So for cheap yet quality record label music in a safe and legal environment, these are where you should start looking.

Generally, most people love the one-time membership fee option. It is quite obvious since it only costs a few bucks more than the yearly fee option to get the music downloads for iPhone. And for that amount, you can get unlimited lifetime access to millions of media files under the songs and music.

The funny thing about why the yearly option for music downloads for iPhone is still quite popular continues to amaze many music industry watchers. Industry professionals claim that people have the mentality that they can make use of that one year to download as many songs and music video as they like before their memberships expires. But they fail to realize that these services are constantly updating their portfolio with new songs. So once your membership ends, you effectively are blocked from receiving any more new downloads.

Some prefer to choose a short-term subscription like a 1-month option out of fear that the service is a scam. Others say they just want to try them out. So once they are in the membership area, they start to test different aspects of the service such as their responsiveness to feedback queries, the number of songs and the ease of use of the navigation.

The fact is, hopping from site to site may very well end up costing them even more for the music downloads for iPhone. After all, this is really not necessary with the 60-day money-back guarantee offered by many of these services. Plus, you really cannot make a good judgment on the quality of service within a short 1 month. Very often, it takes some fiddling around to really understand the difference between all the competing stores.

For the price tag of $30 to $60, you get a lifetime membership entitlement. Do not quickly jump for the $30 option thinking that you got the best deal. It is not always the case. For a professional service to continue maintaining its site and offer quality service, it takes money and if the club membership fee is too cheap, it could mean a compromise in its quality.

The real deciding factors, other than price, when selecting a service providing music downloads for iPhone should include the genres of music they offer, the download speeds, zero limit on bandwidth usage as well as a safe payment and download environment.

Why not go over to my entertainment blog and read up more on the top services for music downloads for iPhone before you decide?

A Review Of The Online Jamorama Acoustic Guitar Course

By Allison Thompson

Master guitarist, Ben Edwards has now come up with another great guitar course for beginners. But where as the previous course showed you how to play the electric guitar, the Jamorama Acoustic Guitar course provides you with lessons that will teach you how to play this type of guitar instead.

There are various different guitar courses available online but of all of them you will still find that the original course produced by Ben is still a leading one. In fact the Jamorama course has been in the top percent of all online guitar courses for several years now. Yet although this new course is designed to teach you how to play the acoustic guitar the quality of information and material contained within it is just as good as the first one.

As you will soon discover as you go through the 2 books and the 153 video lessons, which make up the Jamorama Acoustic Guitar Course you focus solely on techniques for this instrument. Also, as you make your way through the various video lessons, Ben provides some tips and tricks that can help you to learn and start playing the guitar much more quickly than you first imagined.

Although there are plenty of other online guitar courses to choose form there are certain things within the ones devised by Ben Edwards which sets them apart from the others. As well as the books and video lessons, Ben provides an integrated learning kit which consists of games and jamming sessions. It is these additional benefits which assist in making the whole process of practice and learning to play the guitar much more fun. Because you find yourself enjoying your practice sessions more you find that you are actually learning a lot more quickly as well.

As previously mentioned the games that Ben has included in this course make it a much more pleasurable experience for you, especially when you are only just learning how to play it. Also these games have been developed by a professional and will become invaluable to you as you skills develop further, especially when you want to improve on your key skills. It is these games and other resources within the course which can turn you into a far more competent and confident guitar player.

The one thing however, that really makes this particular course stand out from all the other acoustic guitar courses I have looked at is the free consultations provided by Ben Edwards. So if at any stage during your course you become stuck with a particular problem Ben is only an email away to helping you to find a solution. Certainly, although the other courses are good none of them provides this particular facility to their customers.

Another benefit of taking this online guitar course over the many others now available on the internet is that it is extremely easy and simple to use and understand. This is because Ben Edwards has chosen to concentrate less on the theory side of learning to play the guitar and more on the practical. But even so you will still learn about how to read guitar tabs, you just won't find yourself becoming confused and bewildered by information that you can not understand.

If you are really interested in learning to play the acoustic guitar using an online course then you should be taking a serious look at what Ben Edward's Jamorama Acoustic Guitar course has to offer. As previously mentioned there are plenty of other courses which are available online today, but very few of them have the same benefits and additional features that this one has.

Use These Tips To Create A Top Cross Stitch Rose Pattern

By Julia Wigham

If you ask people to name their favourite flowers, it is likely that they will place roses high on their lists. Roses are very popular, and have been named the Queen of flowers, possibly because of their beauty -- creating a wide expanse of color in the garden, and valued for their heady fragrance too. There are thousands of varieties that differ in shape of blooms, size, fragrance and some even lack thorns. Roses are so popular you cannot go far wrong when stitching a cross stitch rose pattern.

One reason so many people are fascinated by roses is how they symbolize life's struggles and achievements. If you survive the thorns of life, you're rewarded with loveliness and contentment.

You'll be able to find the perfect cross stitch rose pattern with a little exploration. The patterns available include everything from standard rose bouquets to modern rose patterns by artists such as Rennie Mackintosh. You'll even find Art Deco rose designs. The choices may seen overwhelming at first, but consider the likes and dislikes of the recipient. Also, don't overlook the symbolic meaning of the various types of roses.

Historically, the Greek goddesses of love, Aphrodite and Venus were identified by roses, and in Italy, a wild rose would be placed on the door of a room where confidential matters were being discussed. Thus, the term 'sub rosa', meaning literally 'under the rose' means 'keeping a secret'.

Many centuries ago, Christians considered the five petals of the rose to symbolise the five wounds of Christ, and the red rose was used to symbolise the blood of Christian martyrs.

Many cultures feel the rose is symbolic. For both England and the United States, the rose is the national flower. For many people, social democracy and socialism are symbolized by red roses. Roses can be found on many coats of arm. Moreover, the English War of the Roses was fought by two groups, the House of Lancaster and the House of York, that were represented by roses. The House of Lancaster was represented by a red rose while the House of York was represented by a white rose.

According to the language of flowers, the color and shape of roses have great symbolic importance. These can communicate a message to the recipient of the rose.

* Red roses are thought to symbolize love. If the red rose is a rosebud, it symbolizes both beauty and purity. Also, if a red rose has no thorns, it's believed to reflect love at first sight.

* Yellow roses are for friendship, new starts, and platonic love. If the tips of the yellow rose's petals are red, then the flower symbolizes falling in love. If you're in Germany or any other country that speaks predominately German, avoid yellow roses. They're thought to symbolize the green-eyed monster, jealousy, and infidelity.

* Pink roses are thought to denote appreciation and grace. If the pink is dark, then the giver is supposedly grateful. If, however, the petals are a light pink, then the message is one of sympathy and admiration.

* Peach or orange roses symbolize fascination with another and feelings of desire and passion.

* A white rose symbolises purity and innocence, especially in white rosebud form. Typically, a bride will choose white roses; this may be interpreted as a new start in life. A white rose can also indicate reverence, humility and friendship.

Finding the perfect cross stitch rose pattern sometimes is a little difficult. You may find a design you like, but the color of the roses may be all wrong. The solution to this dilemma is easy. Simply change the color of the roses.

Here are some tips to help you:

* If you find you need to use threads of a different color, buy the same brand as the other threads. Threads from different cross stitch companies can vary in appearance, so always utilize the same thread brand.

* When you change the color of the rose, don't forget to add shading. Shading gives the flowers a three-dimensional appearance. Don't simply buy one color to stitch the rose.

* If you are unsure about which colors to use, take your kit to your local needlecrafts shop. There, you can place the threads together to check that they look good. Remember the other colors in your cross stitch rose pattern, for example, the stems, or maybe other flowers, and the fabric itself when you are choosing a new color. You will not wish for the colors to clash! Your friendly retailer may even enjoy helping you if he or she is not too busy.

Keep these tips in mind, and you're certain to create a great rose pattern that will delight a friend or family member.

Who Is The Most Popular Living Cartoonist? Three Guesses.

By Alexa Ferotina

If I told you who I thought was my favorite cartoonist, you would, probably, in turn, tell me who is yours. And it woud be different. What I'm writing about is not favorite, but most popular, most viewed worldwide. I checked some analytical sites such as Alexa and others and found some good facts. Rick London is wining the race, but not by a long-shot. He is known for his surprises, so never say never, that he might fall into second. He has many creative tricks up his sleeve.

In the last quarter of the 20th Century, i would have to say my two favorites were Gary Trudeau (Doonesbury) and Scott Adams (Dilbert). Adams is still going strong with Dilbert. He happens to have an economics degree, worked many years in corporate America, so probably has a lot of stories to tell, and does so well in his strip. Even as late as 2000, the late great Charles Schulz was drawing Peanuts (he retired that year). Many say his later work was some of his best. I tend to agree, but he took some risky chances during the Viet Nam War and ruffled some feathers. In the early 1970's his strip debated sensitive issues such as religion, war, and politics. He was never one to make excuses or take prisoners.

Scott Adams had a reputation for rendering funny pictures of his bosses and getting caught. But more importantly, he revealed to us the "new corporate America" which was pitiful at best, at least from the point of comfort and ambiance, due to the fact we were all packed in cubicles, which he, as most workers, hated. Gary Larson (The Far Side, Rick London (Londons Times Cartoons), and Dave Coverly (Speed Bump) are all three brilliant in my book. This is only my opinion and I have heard others think differently. I prefer this genre of cartoojns because of its "extreme editing". These creators tell us a full-page news story in one small panel. I understand why the Pulitzer Commitee gives awards out to cartoonists. How could they not? It is the best journalism available. It takes more than genius to do what they do. Mensa, eat your heart out.

Though Mensa offers much in the way of learning and teaching to its members, my feeling is that it is outdated as it does not take EQ Emotional IQ into account. Some of the brightest people I have ever known or been exposed to, these brilliant cartoonist for instance, might not be Mensa material, but they are just as brilliant. This new type of brilliance was discovered by author Robert Goleman in the mid-1980's and he wrote a best-seller on it called "Emotional IQ" or EQ. It is a book worth reading. The author received a PHD from an ivy league school after being told all his life he was autistic.

I doubt seriously that Larson, London, or Coverly could pass the Mensa test, but I also doubt any Mensan could do what these three high EQ geniuses can do.

Newspapers were king when Larson's Far Side and later Speed Bump by Dave Coverly took off. Speed Bump reminds me a good bit of The Far Side but a little more erudite. I love them equally, but to me, it is hard to beat Rick London's creations. Maybe they are not that much beter but done in such brilliant color, and purposely not created for newspapers but for magazines and the Internet. I love viewing them there. I can go back and look at the website again and again and see something different every time. That so much reminds me of going back and reading Far Side books over and over, especially when I wanted to lift my mood.

Like Yves St. Laurent in the fashion world, who was not a very good artist, and hired others, Rick London had a similar obstacle. He too had to form a "team of creative illustrators to render his thoughts and ideas." But it worked and he surprised a lot of people, as he started with nothing, not even training or education, and ended up being the top cartoonists with the highest-ranking independent site on the Internet.

Though all these creators are great in my book, in their own way, it is impossible not to vote Rick London as the top in his field. He started with nothing and now owns the highest-ranked offbeat cartoon site. He has launched 9 niche web stores of cartoon merchaandise from aprons to clocks and they sell very well I am told. How can one not recognize this talent who only had a high school education in the Mississippi public school systems. It is almost like an Elvis story.

Face Detection Technology A Feature For New Camcorders

By Jim Hofman

A recent trip to the consumer electronics show left this author eagerly anticipating the arrival of certain new camcorder models. Several camcorder manufacturers will be rolling out face detection and face recognition technology, with Sony and Panasonic models already available.

The Face Recognition Technology Facts

Face recognition and face detection technology offers a big plus for still photographers. In essence, it allows the photographer to have an auto correct feature for common facial image photography problems. Introduced a few years ago, face recognition technology is now quite common in digital cameras.

Camcorder owners can expect to see common problems become non issues. For starters, face detection technology will offer auto focus correction. Also, you can expect your images to have balanced color and greater clarity than ever before.

Two Companies Introduce First New Models

Two companies are leading the way in camcorder face detection technology. Both Sony and Panasonic introduced new camcorder models at the consumer electronics show. Panasonic, who were one of the last companies to offer face detection technology in their still cameras, have rolled out the HDC-SD9 model. Meanwhile, Sony's high end model HDR-SR10 is a brand new entrant to the camcorder marketplace offering face recognition capabilities.

Camcorder Owners Will Notice A Difference

If you decide to buy one of these new models, you'll notice a great deal more clarity in facial images. Specifically, you can expect the common problem of excess light exposure to be practically eliminated. Other notable improvements will be color balance and overall sharpness in facial images.

You will see several other companies jump aboard the face recognition technology camcorder market later in 2008 and into 2009. Among those companies with models supposedly in the works or ready for release are Sanyon, Canon, and Olympus. In terms of price, the Panasonic HDC-SD9 retails at $799, but it remains to be seen if price levels will fluctuate as more models are introduced.

Cheap And Good Ipod Music Downloads - Find Them Here

By Davion Wong

It is quite understandable for anyone who just bought an iPod to get all enthusiastic about getting iPod music downloads. With many mainstream services, free sites and paid membership sites available that offers what they want, it can be quite challenging to figure out which is the best option when it comes to finding iPod music downloads.

Largely, all sites providing iPod music downloads are either free or paid. Naturally, the first ones sound more appealing, but only until you look at them more closely. In general, anything that comes free on the Internet should alert you and make you think twice before you decide to yield to all the too-good-to-be-true promises. The same goes to free music for iPod.

Music available on the web for free downloading has raised numerous issues regarding copyrights. And while a lot of these sites get banned or face law suits, new ones pop up almost every day. Of course, it is up to you to what extent you are ready to go, being aware that you are violating the law, but in most cases the risk you take is not worth it.

Free iPod music downloads often come in pathetic quality, many songs are incomplete and the downloading process takes ages. Should you have any problems with the site, there is no customer support to help you. But this is still not the worst thing about free music sites - any file you download from them may expose your computer to adware, spyware and viruses. There is simply no responsibility and no means to check each music file that is uploaded on the website, because the majority or all of them are shared by other users.

Other than the merit of being free, there is one more when transferring iPod music downloads here to your PC and player. Quite often, you can come across unheard of wannabes who upload their own creations. This is also where record companies find the potential starlets.

Don't feel disappointed though. Quality iPod music downloads are very much available, and the cost is not a problem for the majority of folks, even students and teenagers. Though the most popular website must be iTune, it charges per download, and the overall amount can add up quickly. As an alternative, there are websites, which give you an access to unlimited iPod music downloads for a one-time membership fee or a yearly subscription.

Getting iPod music downloads from these sites is secured and safe as a lot of work has been put into maintaining a safe environment for download. You also get the software for file formatting absolutely free. There are more than one million media files with huge collections of entire albums and individual songs. For the price of less than $49.99, you get all these.

Save yourself great savings and plug into endless music for your iPod through my blog.

The Magic And Simplicity Of Building Self-esteem

By Rick London

There is nothing better for self-esteem than building self-esteem. As strange as that sounds, it is that simple.

Many feel that a person is born with it, or maybe was popular in grade school and held onto that for the rest of their lives, always succeeding at whatever due to public support. If only that were so, we'd all have an excuse to frown and be depressed most the time.

In many cases the opposite happens. The slim-trim blonde high-school cheerleader who maybe relied totally on looks for self-esteem later marries, has children and stretch marks, not to mention her hair turned gray from dealing with the children and possibly irate husband and she gained a good bit of weight from the extra bon-bons passed around at her literary club.

It doesn't necessarily help to be raised in a family that is considered highly-esteemed in their community. Though this can be a positive, it can also be a negative. Often the child rebels as a teen or even before that. And even more often than not, never grows out of it, finding him or herself estranged from the rest of the family well into adulthood.

So basically, self-esteem can (and will) do wonders for your self-esteem. That might not make sense if you feel your self-esteem hashas been compromised for a reason outside of your control. You become fearful of life. You become isolated and scared to try new things. It becomes a viscious cycle. But, self-esteem can be learned for the first time, or for the second time in a different way. Adult self-esteem is not the same as a child's and not always gotten in the same fashion.

Maybe you were the star athelete and wore the right clothes, made applauded every time you through a touchdown pass. You kept your grades up and you got consistent positive feedback. This helped your esteem. That is often how we get it early in life. But it is no longer that way in adulthood. Later in life, you landed a high paying marketing job and you hate it. The pay all goes to an ungrateful wife who spends it on fashions and takes vacations with her group of friends. And took your self-esteem with them, while you stayed home and drank beer and watched the game on television.

The truth is, as adults, we more often than not, have to create our own self-esteem. And the closer we get to knowing our real selves, the closer we get to higher self-esteem. We no longer get all the unconditional love, attention, and acknowledgment of our deeds we did when we were younger. It builds by the little things we do. Try it, keep a journal, and look at it next year. Read the whole year and see how dramatically you have changed for the better.

Consider that on your worst day, you commit to go to a soup kitchen and serve food. Maybe a nursing home and visit with the elderly. Tutor a kid with his/her homework. Do something positive to get outside of yourself. You will not get back your self-esteem most likely in one day. But if you find yourself making it a habit of helping others, you will slowly find your self-esteem rising. It is a natural consequence of helping others and getting outside oneself. Perhaps it is true when they say, "God works in mysterious ways." Maybe its the way the universe operates. The fact is, whatever you believe, or don't believe, it truly works.

Iwith depression and low-self-esteem since my teen years (even when I was a popular kid). I always felt alone, even with people. Then I grew up. I became an adult. All of a sudden I was in my late forties. How did it all happen so fast. It was a blur. But now, I'd had a major heart attack and I was keenly aware of my mortality. Heart attack? That was what other people had, not me. I guess everyone thinks that. So I took a week and analyzed my life. I took, (as Richard Dreyfus' book in 'What About Bob?', baby steps. I studied. I researched. I learned. I even went back to college online. Online colleges lured some of them and they continue to study.

It is an interesting experience, to experience higher self-esteem, especially when one never had it. I fall into that category. I take it slow and easy. I enjoy the learning process. It has nothing to do with money or fame. It has to do with knowing me, and, finally, learning to like me, and maybe even love me, so I can love others.

If we've passed the age of forty, we've endured some of life's tough knocks. It has humbled us to a certain degree, hopefully. I just take a little time out of each day and do something to build my self-esteem. I may do a lot of other things incorrectly, but I try to learn to do them right, and still, I take time for myself to do just a little something positive for me or someone, just for the sake of doing it.

In a decade, these little deeds have made me a better person and I've accomplished much in my personal and professional life.

I launched Londons Times Cartoons which makes people laugh. I then opened numerous gift stores like LTSuperstore, RickLondonCollection, Justfunnygreetingcards,Justfunnycoffeemugs, Justfunnyaprons, Mirthgirthbirth, RickLondonwear, Justfunnymousepads, Justfunnyhoodies, etc. People order my cartoon gifts and collectibles from these stores and other people laugh and feel better about themselves as well.

Exposing ourselves to humor helps us be more light-hearted. We learn to "wear the world like a loose-fitting garment". If you do not feel you are a funny person, no problem. Just try to expose yourself to something or someone humorous as often as you can.In time dramatic changes can happen and you will like them. I know that I did and I'm a very slow student. Eventually, even for me, it happened and is happening still.

But don't do it all at once. Remember, baby steps, a little bit each day, and in a year, you'll look back wondering who that sad person was (that was once you).

Make The Decision To Spend Your Christmas Gift Card

By Elizabeth Murphy

Christmas isn't too far behind us and when you think about how quickly a year goes by, it is fair to say that it isn't too far ahead of us either. However, many of us are still hanging on to those gift cards we received, waiting for the right opportunity to spend them and figure out how to spend them. Chances are you received store-specific gift cards to your favorite music or movie store, which means you can spend them only on the items within that store.

Nevertheless, more people are buying universal gift cards (usually issued by Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) at department stores and malls to allow the gift recipient to spend their gift card wherever they would like. When you've got the store-specific cards to buy clothes and other specialty items, you can take your universal gift card and spend it on whatever you like. This gives you the chance to go to the mall and shop at multiple stores. You can tote around your shopping bags like you own the place. However, you can't forget about the music and DVD store. Two of the most common items that universal gift cards are used to purchase are CDs and DVDs.

Instead of spending three days trying to illegally download a movie off of the internet, you can simply take your gift card and buy the real thing. The same goes for CDs. With the enforcement of piracy laws, more and more people are getting in trouble for downloading movies and music off the internet, so to avoid hefty fines and embarrassment; it is a good idea to take that gift card and buy the music and the movies that you want.

Also, buying movies and DVDs rather than downloading them reduces the chances that your computer will contract a virus as a result of the download. At one time, contracting viruses from downloads was not really a concern, but it was just a matter of time. But by using your Christmas gift card to buy your CDs and DVDs, you are protecting yourself by not getting caught for illegally downloading movies and music, and you are not putting your computer at risk. Both of these can be very costly, and all for the chance to acquire a movie for free.

Open yourself up to new entertainment possibilities. Buy a movie you always wanted to see or buy the CD of that artist you thought sounded great on the radio. Of course there are other items you can purchase with your Christmas gift card. No one can tell you how to spend it, but there are so many possibilities that exist when it comes to CDs and DVDs that there is always something that everyone likes because there's plenty to choose from..

Just be sure to spend the gift card on yourself. So many people decide that they don't want to purchase something that they can use and they will buy an item for their significant other, their parents, or a friend. The gift card was given to you as a gift to buy what you want. It wasn't given to you to buy what someone else wants. You want that CD, all you have to do is buy it. If you want that DVD, go for it. No one can tell you how to spend your gift card.

So go into the clothing stores, buy a new outfit with your store-specific card. Go to your favorite bath and body store for some new scents, and then head over to your favorite entertainment store to get the CD or a DVD. Have a little fun.

Beautiful Counted Cross Stitch Patterns Are The Basic Element

By Julia Wigham

Every cross stitcher, whether new to the craft or experienced, knows the most important tool needed is of course the counted cross stitch patterns. Without them, there would be nothing to stitch. You can find them individually in magazines, from websites on the Internet or in a cross stitch kit. The kits offer the advantage of having all the materials necessary to stitch that particular project, including the pattern.

Let's say you wish to embroider a floral tablecloth. There is yet another choice to make before you can start stitching. Are you looking for counted cross stitch or a cloth with a pre-printed pattern stamped onto it?

Personally I only tackled one stamped cross stitch project before I wanted something more challenging. My tablecloth had blue crosses printed on the fabric and a guide that showed me which color to use for each cross. Other printed cross stitch projects are worked on Aida and have some background areas printed in full color leaving other sections to be stitched.

Counted cross stitch patterns are generally more challenging than the stamped cross stitch pattern. There is always the possibility that you may place a stitch or two differently from the pattern, but that is part of the challenge of the counted cross stitch. Catching and correcting any mistake you find can be frustrating, but they can help you become a better stitcher.

Another creative benefit to counted cross stitch patterns is that you can create patterns that look exactly the way you want them to. You can personalize projects this way. Simply by changing some of the colors, or taking items from individual patterns and putting them together, you can make a whole new pattern. This is useful when making gifts or trying to match the dcor of the room the piece will be displayed in. Modifying patterns is also useful in many other situations.

Searching for just the right pattern can be difficult and yet exciting. Go to your local discount store and see what's available in their craft section. Visit your favorite craft store to find out what they have to offer as well. Don't just look at the leaflets; be sure to check out the kits too. If kits themselves don't excite you, often times you'll discover similar individual patterns that will be close to the kit pattern you liked.

If you cannot find just the right work of art locally, why not try searching the internet. Many of the great artists, including modern painters, have had their paintings turned into cross stitch patterns for you to recreate in stitches.

Starting a new hobby, especially one as diverse as cross stitch, can be exciting. Choosing the counted cross stitch patterns to stitch can be frustrating. Overcome the frustration by deciding upon the type of cross stitch pattern you would like, and then searching for it online. The door to the world of cross stitch is wide open, take the step through, and find the bliss of cross stitch.

How To Download Anime Movies

By Davion Wong

Ever wondered how to download anime movies? If you are a great fan of Japanese culture and for that matter, a fanatic of cartoons like Naruto, Genesis Evangelion, Sailor Moon and Bleach, you would love to be able to download anime movies without paying much.

Where can you find cheap movies to download and watch?

There are no secrets. All in all, you have 3 places to get them. And the beauty is you can watch the animation on your computer or television. It is really up to you.

1. Free Sites

Have you heard of P2P? No doubt that these places can let you download anime movies for free, this is no free lunch in this world really. When you use their services, there is a way you would have to "pay" them which is to view their sponsored ads. You get them through adware that are secretly installed onto your PC. Beware of other harmful elements like computer viruses and spyware. And not forgetting about the slow file transfer.

2. Fansubs

What are fansubs? Fans subtitle and dub the original Japanese cartoons in their local languages and call them fansubs. These sites are often private clubs where entry is gained through sign up. You can download anime movies there. But be warned - many are pirated copies. At the same time, these sites are often run by amateurs and since they are done for fun, do not expect any form of service there. Selection is limited as well.

3. Paid Anime Membership Sites

There are now several sites or clubs that offer you a membership to download anime movies. Each membership gives you unlimited access to the hundreds of both new and the old cartoon classics. It is normally priced at $30 over. In case you are worried that there are bandwidth restrictions, be assured there are not. You can also burn them onto CDs or DVDs so that you and your family can watch them on the television.

Out of the 3 options, the majority are now switching to using paid sites to download anime movies. For such a low fee, you can be spared the agony of poor quality cartoons, threats from harmful elements, frequent hang ups, and slow downloads. Come quickly to my cartoon blog and see for yourself now.

The Good Side Of The Far Side's Gary Larson

By Rick London

When in the mood, I can talk about my favorite Far Sides all night, Only several humorists influenced me greatly before Londons Times Cartoons became my pet prroject. Others who influenced me a great deal were the original cast members of Saturday Night Live, a former roommie in New York, Patrick Weathers (who also was a featured performer on SNL in the early 1980's) Steven Wright, Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore, Jack Benny, George Burns and Gracie Allen, Lucy, Rowan & Martin, Peter Sellers, and and I'm sure I could name a hundred more if I had time. One other cartoonist was the late great Charles Schulz, and they all influenced me in a different way.

I believe Larson's work had such an impact on me because, like so many in my generation, I was trying to do the transformation from outgrown hippie to yuppie and not much made sense anymore. He found a way to make sense of it all, and did it with "extreme editing skills" sometimes no words, but only an illustration. He was a step above so many other cartoonists in that he most often "drew what he knew" . Larson was a biology major in college, and aside from the frequent use of cows and insects, science and biology themes were a normal theme for him. Before Larson launched The Far Side, he was working on a cartoon called "Nature's Way". The Seattle Times was the first paper to publish it in 1979. A year later, Chronicle Features picked The Far Side up for syndication and it ran fifteen years. Larson put down his pin on New Years Day, 1995. For awhile we heard nothing. Then he wrote a very biologically-accurate children's story about worms titled "There's A Hair In My Dirt" which quickly became a New York Times Best Seller. When asked why he was retiring, he said, he simply didn't want to become mediocre. He stopped while he was ahead. He could be labeled more than a cartoonist, perhaps a "cartoon surrealist" of sorts. A lot of his cartoons featured bovine behavior and conversations that cows had when no people were around. The behavior was often smart and arrogant so that the reader felt he or she perhaps might not be so much smarter than these cows (and other animals, from squid to deer to bears. Some were smart enough to be in Mensa, had they allowed animals. Cats and dogs were regularaly featured in the cartoon usually pit against one another. One of the most memorable panels shows a big dog who has led a trail with chalk that said "Cat Fud" that led to an open dryer in a laundry mat and the dog thinking while holding the door open ready to close it, "Oh Pleeeeeze" as the cat innocently walks around.

One popular Far Side panel features two chimpanzees grooming each other. One discovers a blonde human hair on the other and asks "Conducting a little more 'research' with that Jane Goodall tramp?" Her institute board members felt it was in bad taste, and had their lawyers draft a letter to Larson and his distribution syndicate, in which they described the cartoon as an "atrocity". They were stopped in their tracks, though, from no other than Goodall herself, who loved the cartoon. Since then, all profits from sales of a shirt featuring this cartoon benefit the Goodall Institute. Most recently, Larson has published a 2007 calendar and 100% of the royalties benefit Conservation International. Not many people, including myself, have the kind of talent, Gary Larson has. And when they do, they don't behave as well as he does. People are always looking for role model and turn to sports, acting etc. They might try turning towards this quiet retired cartoonist. I think he has his act together. I will always remember The Far Side, and its continued impact on me, and even better knowing there is such a good guy behind it.

A Cross Stitch Bookmark Makes A Superb Alternative To A Card

By John Wigham

Most cross stitch fans love creating something special for family and friends. Often, they stitch a card to commemorate a special occasion or holiday. These cards are beautiful and are greatly admired by their recipients. But after a time, the cards are stored away and forgotten. A better idea might be to give a specially designed bookmark as a present.

Think about the possibilities. Not only can a cross stitch bookmark carry a personalized message just like a card can, but it also will be used time and again. Moreover, your friends will think of you each time they settle down with a good book. What better way to be remembered?

Like any other stitching project, you'll want to consider a few suggestions before you begin creating your gifts.

Pick a bookmark design that means something to your friend. You want to personalize this present by making it depict something this person loves. For instance, does she love flowers? Is he a golf fan? Decide on a pattern that captures the interests of the recipient. Of course, since your cross stitch bookmark will be small, the pattern must reflect this. So pick one interest the recipient has and use that as the pattern.

Children may be encouraged to read by being given their very own bookmark, with a favourite cute character stitched onto it to make it personal for them.

If you're looking for a quick, easy way to create a bookmark, you may want to buy a kit. Select a kit that has a pattern your friend will like. If you haven't created a cross stitch bookmark before, a kit will show you what's involved. The kit will contain everything you need, including all of the various flosses, the required cross stitch material, and directions. After you complete this bookmark, you should save the directions so you can follow them when you stitch your next bookmark.

Traditionally, bookmarks are long and slim in shape. It is important that they are not too bulky or scratchy, as this could damage fine paper pages. You will need to consider what sorts of books your friend reads. Paperback books are usually smaller than their hardback counterparts, and therefore you need to take this into account when considering the size. As a general rule, it's advisable to make your bookmark between six to nine inches long (15 to 22cm) and two and a half inches (6.5cm) wide.

You will need to cut your cross stitch fabric (aida or evenweave) to the right size. In order to prevent the edges from fraying, you should stitch a piece of binding or ribbon to the edges. If you prefer, you can use a larger piece of fabric and deliberately fray the edges yourself, keeping the edges symmetrical and neat in appearance. You can then stop further fraying by spraying with a fray-stopping product.

As for the design, you can either pick a small design from a magazine or book, or if you are feeling adventurous, you can try drawing your own design. To do this, you will need a page of graph paper, with every square corresponding to a potential stitch. Make sure that you leave a small gap between the edge of your design and the edge of the fabric.

As you work, you'll want to make your stitching as tidy as possible. When you finish, glue a ribbon fragment onto the back so you can neatly cover the underside. Keep your knots small to avoid any bumps.

Another way you can add a little pizzazz to a bookmark is by folding the bottom into a point. The triangle point gives the bookmark extra flare and is a perfect place to hang a pretty tassel, perhaps one with a bead or other decoration.

Do not forget to iron the finished bookmark carefully, between two towels, so that it does not become overheated.

Bookmarks are really easy to make, and after you've stitched one, the next ones will be a snap. The projects will take you almost no time at all.

Any friend or family member is bound to love the cross stitch bookmark you make for them. Plus, unlike a card, your personalized bookmark will be treasured and used often, perhaps for many years to come.

Download Music, Movies And Games

By Larry Bowlin

Recently I decided to begin downloading some movies to watch during the summer rerun season. I began searching for the best deal available.

I had thought of the movie rental places, but their stock is by nature limited to what is most popular. And their prices are not so cheap either. My tastes are somewhat different and what I am looking for is rarely stocked.

To me, most all of the entertaining movies are those made many years ago, especially the musicals, comedies, and mysteries.

Strange isn't it how for so many years comedians could tell jokes for hours - and receive standing ovations - without uttering a single curse word and without the inference that one person is somehow inferior to another.

It is certain that those days were not perfect but families could always find very entertaining movies to watch together without risk of being offended or denigrated.

But not anymore! If you are lucky enough, you might be able to sit through five or ten minutes of a movie without being subjected to a flurry of curse words or someone's naked butt sticking out at you from the screen. Thanks, but no thanks! I'm old enough that I have already heard (and used) all those words and I know what they mean so there is no fascination for me in hearing them. And I've seen my own butt often enough in the mirror that I am able to recognize one when I see it, so I don't feel the need to see anyone else's.

Imagine my surprise and pleasure when I found a site which offers unlimited downloading opportunities for more than 80 million DVD quality movies. Of course the service has a cost - just as with everything in life. But that one time cost was less than $40 for unlimited access and unlimited downloading. How many rentals could you get for that? And, you don't need to drive to the rental store in a blizzard or a rain storm!

What a selection these people have! They offered both old and very new movies; I even found movies that I had enjoyed watching with my parents when I was a child. Very good memories indeed!

I found this great surprise at the ABC Music Company and am very happy that I did. I think you will be just as happy. This site seems to have gathered into one place most everything you might be looking for in the way of entertainment.

On this site you will be able to access hundreds of millions of movies, music, videos and games. Downloading of full CDs is available from some of the sites. Mac users will also find downloads here. There are downloads for MP3 players and other hand held devices. If you cannot find something you can enjoy at this site, it probably doesn't exist.

Why Every Cross Stitch Newbie Should Start Here

By Geordie Johnny

Can't wait to get started stitching a cross stitch project? Well, before you find yourself in over your head, take some time to learn the basics. If you are a cross stitch beginner, don't start out by taking on a project that's too complicated for you. Pick a pattern that's suitable for your skill level. Start out with something easy, and then work your way up to the more complicated patterns.

The best thing a cross stitch beginner can do is learn the basics before they attempt to stitch anything and the following two sites teach everything that you will need to know to stitch your first masterpiece:

www(dot)yarntree(dot)com/007begin(dot)htm On this site, you'll find everything you need to get started. The main page has a chart that's free. You'll also be glad to know there's a list of the cross stitch items you need to buy. Spend some time exploring this site because you'll find information that can help you learn more about cross stitch. For instance, you can learn about cross stitch fabric choices, how many strands of floss to use, and what tasks you should do before you begin a project. Even more advanced cross stitchers can pick up a few ideas from this site.

www(dot)caron-net(dot)com/patguide(dot)html When it comes to learning about cross stitch, this second site has lots of valuable information. No matter whether you're new to cross stitch or have been stitching for some time, you'll find helpful hints and information. For instance, you can find ideas on selecting your floss and fabric, along with instructions on how the stitches are created. What's helpful is that new information is added on a regular basis, so you'll want to stop by frequently to find the latest hints.

After you've had a chance to learn some of the basics, you'll want to find a great pattern for your first project. When you're first starting out, you'll want to find a simple pattern. Avoid complicated patterns because they may be too difficult, which may cause you to become discouraged. Instead, look for easy patterns. The question becomes, where should you look? The internet is filled with cross stitch patterns, so where should you start?

Well I suggest www(dot)cross-stitch-academy(dot)com/beginners/beginners(dot)html as your first stop. Here you can find eight great little patterns that include the chart, a picture of the finished design (which is always helpful) and an easy to understand floss chart. Each of the eight designs are explained step by step and color by color until the last stitches are made which is an absolutely fantastic way to show a beginner.

What's wonderful about this site is it's so easy and helpful that even children will find it fun. These great patterns are free for you to download and enjoy. Take a moment to look at each of them. You'll find a nice variety, with everything from flowers to a pretty border, plus some great holiday patterns. You'll also find a great little project to give Mom. Even if your skills are more advanced, you'll find fun patterns on this site.

When you get bored by this site, or just too good at stitching, then you can also try www(dot)dltk-kids(dot)com/type/crossstitch (dot)htm where there are loads of free beginner patterns to choose from. Technically this site is a children's site but I regularly visit and download a couple of easy patterns for my cross stitch beginner daughter and the odd one for me.

There are a number of animals to choose from including a dog, a cat, a chicken, a frog, a turtle and a little ladybug. There are also patterns for each of the seasons, a Christmas pattern, a mother's day pattern and a St Patrick's Day pattern. All of the patterns are printable as are the instructions and the floss charts.

Each cross stitch beginner should be encouraged and congratulated for taking the first step in the long journey to becoming a master stitcher. Be warned though -- once you start, you just can't seem to stop!

Loading Dvd To Ipod Really Is Pretty Cool

By Roger Sarris

The last fifty years have witnessed an amazing array of technological innovations, such as space travel, robotics, and the computer. We've also seen the advent of many technological developments, that while certainly exciting, were not innovations. But somewhere along the line, people started confusing technological developments with technological innovations. And while new technology like loading DVD to iPod is exciting, it is not an innovation.

See, a development is an advance of some sort. It's something that is useful, something that makes our lives a little easier or more exciting. An innovation is a development that is so completely brand new that it changes the way we think and revolutionizes the way we live. The technology behind loading DVD to iPod is exciting, and while it has added value to our lives, it certainly hasn't revolutionized them, and therefore is not an innovation.

And who really cares if loading DVD to iPod is considered an innovation or development? The technology is seriously cool and all that is really important is that you now have the ability to keep your self entertained by watching whatever you want wherever you want.

Seriously, think about your entertainment options fifty years ago. If you wanted to watch a TV program, you had to catch it while it was being broadcasted. Your choices were pretty limited too, because there were only three or four stations back then. And the only movies you could watch were the ones that happened to be playing at your local theater. Amazing, isn't it?

Of course, technology is only as good as it is useful to the end user, so the ability to covert DVD to iPod was quickly followed by a new technological development, DVD to iPod converters. This technology exploded, and it seemed like every week there was another company introducing their new converter to the world.

There was some pretty fierce competition as these companies battled each other for market share. As companies attempted to out do each other by increasing conversion speeds, storage capabilities and copy quality of their DVD to iPod converters, consumers were the ones that ultimately benefitted.

Specialty converters that were specifically tailored for either the PC-Windows platform or the Mac platform were among the many different types of converters that were produced during this time. However, most companies created universal converters that could accommodate as wide a customer range as possible.

Many companies realized that what people really wanted was convenience. So they developed easy to use DVD to iPod converters that did their job with just one simple button click

Naturally it was the companies that were smart enough to create DVD to iPod converters that were both universal and user-friendly that now dominate the marketplace. These converters are versatile, and incredibly easy to use. Loading DVD to iPod with these converters is as simple as clicking one button.

Download Music Online - Read This Before You Download Music

By Davion Wong

There is an unending supply of sites where you can download music online today. With millions of search results, even the most unique piece of music performed by an underground band can be found. This article will give you an overview of what you should be looking out for when you download music online.

Downloads Differ

First of all, differentiate streaming and downloading. The first variant is when music is played live as long as you are online; in case of downloading you get music files copied to your hard disk, so they can be saved and played offline. Downloads also differ. Some are permanent, meaning that you can burn the songs to a CD or transfer them to a portable player. However, downloads protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) usually last as long as your subscription does. You are also limited in moving and copying your music files.

So you need to know what type of downloaded music files you are looking at. Streaming is good enough if you just want to listen to something while surfing or doing your work.

Free Stuff Does Not Mean Best

The first thing that many people look for is to download music online for free. However, if you take time to read user reviews, you will realize that people face a lot of problems on these sites. They vary from slow downloading speeds to poor selection and quality of songs to improper functioning of a website to virus attacks and inadequate file content File sharing is the fastest way to expose the data stored on your computer to other users, so you need to realize that the whole idea of free music downloads is potentially dangerous in many ways.

Another possible problem encountered would be the legality of the free music download sites. Many of them are not legal. A classic example was the old Napster, which was previously a P2P network. Even Kazaa and other similar sites are facing much pressures from legal agencies.

Payment Plan

Paid websites vary a lot when it comes to payment plans they offer. Subscription is the most common variant, but unfortunately not the cheapest. Pay per download is even more expensive option unless a couple of particular songs are all you need. The alternative to download music online, which is becoming more and more popular, is to purchase a lifetime membership. You can get access to unlimited music downloads and all the necessary technical support for less than $50 in most cases.

Other things to look for when deciding to download music online are: usable format, free trial period and/or samples of music available, free downloading software, clear instructions, and 100% malware protection.

For more specific details as well as a detailed review of the services where you can download music online, come over and read more at my entertainment blog.

The Impact Fame Has On The Personal Life Of A Celebrity

By Amy Nutt

Celebrities have a huge impact on peoples' lives in the world today. A lot of people can't go through one day without checking the web, or their favorite celebrity magazine to read about the latest celebrity gossip, and the most up to the minute juicy tidbit of news about their favorite famous person. Celebrities can range from an actor or actress, singer, writer, movie producer or director, or reality show contestant. There are also people who are famous for "being famous", such as Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie.

Most people just gobble up any item of "news" that they can get about their favorite celebrities. It is too easy to focus on someone else's problems, so you don't have to give attention to your own difficulties! What these people don't think about is the fact that the more they read about and purchase information about these celebrities, the less privacy these people have in their lives. It's really no wonder that the majority of celebrities out there today mess up do often - they are under a serious amount of pressure!

When someone finally reaches "celebrity status" in today's world, it is great at first. They start to get recognized on the street every now and again, and every once in a while, they will get a meal for free just because the restaurant owner or manager is a big fan of the television show that they appear on. After a while, however, after they have climbed higher on the celebrity ladder, it gets to be not so much fun for these people. The paparazzi follow them everywhere they go, usually taking very awful and embarrassing pictures that cause fans to think that they are anorexic or pregnant or near death. The paparazzi don't just follow them on the street, but they also hide in trees near these celebrities' homes, taking pictures of their private, personal lives and printing them for the entire world to see the next day.

Being in the public eye so much definitely has a huge impact on the personal lives of our celebrities. When you think about it, if you could not leave your house to take a walk, or go to the local caffe for a latte without being swamped by cameras and reporters, your life wouldn't be much of a life either! Celebrities also receive phone calls every now and again from worried friends and relatives who see the tabloids in the grocery store and think that their friend or relative is dead or terminally ill, or about to split up with their spouse. The tabloids and magazines pretty much have a 100% record of being completely untrue, but people still worry!

Even when celebrities want to get married, they sometimes have to choose a spouse who is also in the public eye, because when someone is not used to the cameras and craziness, it can be too much for them to handle, along with a new marriage. Also, any person made famous from Reality TV shows, games shows or movies, who dates a non famous person cannot help but wonder if their significant other would want to be with them if they were not a celebrity. When celebrities do get married and have children, life is harder for their families as well because of their parents' celebrity status.

Cheap Acoustic Guitars - Considerations

By Allison Thompson

The main reason why a instrument will cost as much as they do is the materials from which they have been made. Certainly when it comes to stringed instruments like the guitar the better quality ones will have been used wood. But along with wood there are other materials such as graphite and plastic which can be used for making cheap acoustic guitars. The problem with these types is that they will not sound as good.

Those people who choose to buy a guitar which is not made from wood often find themselves becoming frustrated because it does not produce the right kind of sound. It is these people who will often give up learning to play the guitar. So rather than spending money on a cheap one instead invest a little more in an acoustic guitar that has been made from wood. Although you will not be saving yourself money you will enjoy playing it much more.

When you begin your search for a cheap acoustic guitar it is best to look for those which come with a solid wooden top rather than being made from plywood. The reason for this being that those made using solid wood provide a much richer and fuller tone to the sound that they produce. Also when buying an acoustic guitar purchase one that has both a solid wood back and sides.

As you will soon discover there are lots of different acoustic guitars to choose from but one that you should seriously consider thinking about buying, is the Seagull S6. Which although expensive is really value for money. The top is made from cedar whilst the back and sides have been made using mahogany and it is these woods that help it produce such a wonderful sound. Because of the quality of the build many professional musicians will still have this guitar and will like to play it, even though they could well have much more expensive ones in their collection.

On average you can expect to spend between $400 and $500 on the Seagull S6. But if you are someone who is really serious about being able to play the guitar well then investing your money in one of these should be high on your list. However, there are some places online where you may find that you can get this guitar for a little less.

Along with the Seagull S6 there are other types of acoustic guitars which produce a good sound but are slightly cheaper. One of these is the Yamaha F310 which costs less because of the materials used to make it. Instead of the top being made from cedar it is made from spruce, but just like the Seagull S6 the sides and back of the Yamaha F310 are constructed from mahogany. On average you can expect to spend about $150 to $200 on this guitar and is the one that those first starting to learn how to play the guitar will choose to buy.

But as well as the Yamaha F310 there is also the Epiphone DR-100 which is slightly less in price than the Yamaha. On average you can expect to spend between $120 and $150 on this guitar. Just like the Yamaha this guitar is made using spruce and mahogany woods and is the ideal instrument for those first starting to learn how to play the guitar. However at some point in the future you will need to upgrade this one for something a little better, especially once you become a more accomplished guitarist.

Although there are plenty of guitars available that cost less than $100 these are not the sort you should consider buying when you are wanting to learn. As you will find the quality of the sound they produce is badly affected and people who choose to buy one of these will often give up learning because they just do not sound as good. The reason for this is that the guitars are not made very well and the materials used because they are poor quality and cheap to buy.

Therefore if you are serious about getting a cheap acoustic guitar for either yourself or someone else then you can not go far wrong with the ones mentioned above. However, if you find that you are still restricted by your budget then take a look at your local guitar or music store to see what second hand ones they have available. The great thing about doing this is that you will be able to try several out in order to find the one that you feel comfortable with.

It's All Gary Larson's (the Far Side) Fault

By Rick London

I loved my years of living on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C. I was your typical hippie-turned-yuppie. Still thought like a sixties, guy, dressed like an eighties one. I liked my paycheck more than a bag of pot or the Beatles White Album.

Several friends called me one day with an invitation to see a Gary Larson Far Side exhibit at the Smithsonian. I didn't want to go. I was tired after a long day's work. They talked me into it.

Though I loved and The Far Side and still do, thought is hard to find, when the invitation came in mid-afternoon at work, I already had burnout, and knew i wanted go go to sleep early. I was usually dead-tired at the end of a work-day, and the though that went through my head was, "Why wait in a long line for Gary Larson when he'll be in the paper tomorrow?"

I could tell Julie and Beverly were not listening, soI got dressed. They picked me up and we at the museum within five minutes. The lines, though long, moved quickly and the exhibit was beyond my wildest imagination. The panel cartoons had been blown up onto 5 or 6 foot poster boards and were hanging from the ceiling. Many of them were some of my most memorable from the newspaper.

The blown up paperboard only served to make the Far Side better and funnier. The details that made it so brilliant were no longer so subtle or hidden. It was like Disneyland.

Something inside me started going wrong. My nervers were twitching and I had trouble catching my breath. Could it have been a heart attack? I went home that night and cried, not knowing why at first.

After exhibit I went straight home and couldn't hold back the tears much longer. I remembered something very important from 3 decades earler. I had written a shoebox full of cartoons very much like the futre Far Side. The year was 1973 and it did not yet exist. I put that, and many other dreams behind me to make a living. But this one persisted. I had to try it before my death.

I remember making the mistake of showing them to my mom, who told me to "throw them away and do my homework". I continued to do my homework, but I never through away the cartoons. They remained in my closet until that very night.

I remembered sharing them with mom and her negative response, but, I remember thinking, "Even if Mom is not around, I would still be scared to launch such a project for fear that people had thought I lost it". It was then that I realized Gary Larson was not just a cartoonist but a brave pioneer in the world of print journalism.

Ten years later, I launched Londons Times Cartoons with one other artist. Since that time I have worked with numerous artists and I've continued writing and assigning the cartoons. The site has become the biggest of its kind on the Internet and certainly the most visited (over 8.9 million visitors since 2005 when we began counting). The cartoon itself is nearly 11 years old. We have seven cartoon merchandise stores.

The motto of this story is "build it and they will come"; though that was not my favorite Kevin Kostner quote of his movie career. But the concept is true. If one focuses hard enough on a project or profession, sooner or later, something will break. The secret is being patient enough to hang in there until it does.

Cost-effective Unlimited Zune Music Downloads

By Davion Wong

If you have been looking for cost-effective unlimited Zune music downloads, you know that pay per download method is not for you, as the seemingly low price adds up to an incredible amount quite fast. You might have also realized that free Zune download websites are also not the option, because of numerous risks associated with them.

There are two more alternatives, though. Unlimited Zune music downloads are available on a subscription basis (monthly or yearly); another option is one-off fee membership sites. If you are looking for cheaper than pay per download options, which are secure and legal at the same time, this is what you need.

The most cost-effective option would go to the lifetime membership sites. Why? The difference between a whole life membership and a yearly subscription is only a few dollars only. So the risk you have to bear in case it turns bad and not up to your expectations is very low. Contrast this with access for your entire life and you can see the value.

It is very interesting to hear from short term subscribers though. Those who subscribe for the shortest available option - the 1 month access have a school of thought. They feel that they can use the service and download as many movies, songs, music videos, games and so on as they wish. Once it expires, they simply stop the service. While they do get some perks from there, but in the long run, they lose out when the latest billboard hits and releases are updated on the sites.

Then we have users who prefer such a short subscription so that they can test out the service. Fair enough, they do get to check if the unlimited Zune music downloads are as fantastic as what people are raving about.

Unfortunately, they will quickly realize that they are wasting their time and money. In the first place, reputable services are offering a money back guarantee for their unlimited Zune music downloads service. Also, since they do vary in the client software they use and the Zune music selection, it is hard to make a clean cut judgement on the service. It could take you several times of service hopping before you get the "best" one in your eyes.

The lifetime membership price varies and in most cases it is between $35 and $50. You can look for the cheapest possible options, but don't be tempted by offers that are too cheap. After all, the price you pay for a good downloading website is totally worth it as you can be sure that you will get everything you need for your Zune, plus 24/7 technical support and protection from spyware, adware and viruses. In the long run, paying for quality always proves to be cost-effective.

Several sites like iZune Access, UnlimitedZuneDownloads and Zune Video Pro kept getting mentioned by regular users for their excellent service and enormous variety of genres and databases. Do find out more about them at my entertainment blog today.

Acoustic Guitar Reviews - Finding The Right Ones

By Allison Thompson

If you are looking for a new acoustic guitar, then it is a good idea to look at acoustic guitar reviews before you buy one. There are two kinds of reviews that you should be looking ones that are written by the experts. Those people who have had the opportunity to try a wide variety of guitars on a regular basis. The other is user reviews, which have been written by people who just want to let people know what they think about the guitar they use.

When you look at the expert reviews you will find that these have been written by people who have had several years experience of playing these kinds of guitars. When looking at expert reviews the better ones should provide you with details on several different types which they have been able to use. Not only should they be pointing out the good points of each one but also their bad points as well, even if they do prefer a particular one over the others. It is important that if they have a bias towards a particular guitar they should clearly explain in their review why this is. You do not need someone who has a Bachelor's Degree in Music, rather you want someone who knows what they are talking about.

When reading through users reviews look for websites that offer you them on various different guitars and which have been written by a number of different musicians. Ideally, the best place to go for reviews like this is by visiting online music stores. When reading through the reviews look closely by those musicians who play the same kind of music as you and are at the same performance level also.

When you are looking for acoustic guitar reviews online there are certain things which you can do which can make the whole process of finding the right ones much easier. Firstly when carrying out a search online place quotation marks around the phrase that you are using as your search criteria. So for acoustic guitar reviews you would type in to the search box "acoustic guitar reviews".

By using this phrasing when searching on sites like Yahoo you will be able to greatly reduce the number of search results that come back. Without the quotation marks you will end up with around 17 million search hits but with them this is reduced to just over 6,000. Also you can use this same search trick when looking for the review on a specific type of guitar. For example if you just type in Martin DX1 you will get around 38,000 search hits, but by typing in "Martin DX1" this will reduced down to only 10,000.

Another trick that you can do when searching for reviews relating to acoustic guitars add a plus sign (+) right up against the word or phrase that you want to have in each result you get. Doing this you will be able to further specify exactly what it is you are searching for. Just by typing in "Martin dx1 review" will end up in you getting a total of nine results. This is because you will only be provided with those sites that have the exact phrase in them that you keyed in initially.

In addition, another good idea when searching for acoustic guitar reviews is to mix up the way in which the words are phrased. For example if you type in to the search bar "martin dx1"+review you will find that you get around 500 search results compared to the previous 9. Also if you are looking certain information with regard to the instrument say you want to know a bit more about the action then include this word in your search criteria along with the plus sign.

Using these tricks should help you when it comes to trying to find the right kinds of acoustic guitar reviews so that you can make a more informed decision on which one you should buy. Also using these tricks should make the whole search process a lot quicker as well and could end up not only saving you time, but money as well.

How To Download Music For Iphone Safely, Affordably And Instantly

By Davion Wong

Are you a proud owner of the latest iPhone? If you are, then you must be looking for ways to download music for iPhone. And best if you can do so safely, affordably and instantly. The truth is, there are several ways to download music for iPhone and you would find out about the pros and cons here.

Simply put, there are 3 popular ways to download music for your iPhone. Free sites are popping up to offer free music. Then we have our conventional way - the mainstream music stores like iTunes, Amazon and so on that charges per download. Also, we have the paid membership services that charge a one-off lifetime membership fee.

Sites that offer anyone to download music for iPhone for free may sound like the best places to go. But trust me, they are not. Many of them are slow when it comes to downloading huge files. Also, you got to be constantly fearful that the songs you download are incomplete and come with harmful viruses and malware that can damage your PC.

Using a main music service can ensure that the music you find is of excellent quality. Their databases are also large and contain a wide variety of songs and music. There is no way you cannot find what you want. However, buying a piece of music at $0.99 is going to dry up our wallets real fast especially if we are music fanatics!

The last alternative is to pay the one-time fee to a paid membership service. Similar to the main music stores, their selection is comparably huge. Plus, there is no pay per download fee here. So once we pay a lifetime membership fee of less than $49.99, we get unlimited access to all the music and song files there. We also are assured our computers are shielded from the potential threats.

So What Is The Best Option In My Opinion To Download Music For iPhone?

Unless you are dead broke, you should not even consider using the free sites to download music for iPhone. The last time my friend used that, his computer died on him! Initially, he thought that with an updated anti-virus program running, his PC is safe. Who knows that the viruses that came along with the songs downloaded are that powerful that they corrupted his hard drive's data including the installed windows applications? He ended up buying a new drive

So it looks like going for a paid membership service gets the votes of most users like me. We love the idea of being able to download music for iPhone and do so affordably. There are no bandwidth limits and no threats we got to guard against.

With dozens of paid services out there, it does pay to spend some time finding out more. Take a look at what I found out about 3 top services users are using to download music for iPhone in my entertainment blog.

Acoustic Guitar Tuning - When Should It Be Done

By Allison Thompson

If you really want your acoustic guitar to sound good all the time then you should be tuning it every time you play it. There really is not any funny about playing a great piece of music out of tune. Although in the beginning, you may become somewhat frustrated when it comes to tuning your guitar you will soon realize the importance of ensuring that yours has been correctly tuned. So it really is worth your time and effort when it comes to acoustic guitar tuning before you beginning playing it.

However it will take some and lots of practice before you are able to learn how to tune an acoustic guitar by ear. It is because of this the easiest way for a beginner to carry out acoustic guitar tuning is for them to use an electric tuner. They start at around $20 and buying an electric tuner is more than worth it. If you do buy an electric tuner for guitars this will also tell you which string you are playing.

When you sit down to tune the guitar you put the electronic tuner on a stool or table next to you, then switch it on. Now pluck the first string. The tuner will then be able to sense which of the strings you are tuning through the microphone on it. On the tuner itself is an indicator which will tell you just close to the correct pitch you are. This indicator can also tell you how flat or sharp the pitch of the note is. Then all you need to use is the tuning key on the guitar to adjust the string until the tuner indicates that you the guitar is in tune.

You should also remember to tune up. This means you go from loose to tight until the string is once again in tune. If you tighten the string too much do not attempt to loosen it slightly in order to make sure that you get the right note. Rather than tuning down (just loosen the string slightly) you should loosen it quite a bit and then start again to retighten it in order to get it in tune. Tuning up is the more accurate way of getting the string in tune and for it to keep the tune.

But if you do not want to use an electronic tuner to tune your guitar then to do it by listening yourself you will need to use another source to act as your reference pitch. The best things to use are either another guitar, a piano or tuning fork (but again these need to be tuned correctly as well). Or if you want you could go digital and use an MP3 instead.

If, however, you are going to be tuning your guitar by ear (listening) then it is best to start off by tuning the sixth string that produces a Low E note and this you use as your reference pitch. After you have made sure that your sixth string is properly tuned you can now move on to tuning the rest of them on the guitar by carry out the following steps.

1. Play the sixth string (which is in tune) on the fifth fret after doing this start to tune the open fifth string until it sounds the same. 2. Now play the fifth string on the fifth fret as you did above and once you have the note in your mind you can start to tune the open fourth string. 3. After tuning the fourth string you now do the same with the third string. But you need to pay special attention here as you will switch from the fifth fret to the fourth fret on the third string when tuning up the second string. 4. Then after you have tuned the second string you move on to the final (first) string. Again to tune this you need to play the second string first with this you now move from the fourth fret to the third fret in order to get the note for the first string which is open. Once you have done these moves you have now completed tuning your acoustic guitar.

But a great way of ensuring that when first starting to tune your guitar by ear is to also use an electronic tuner as well. Although when it comes to acoustic guitar tuning the old fashioned way is good, but an electronic tuner ensures that you get accurate results every time that you do it.

Just What Are Acoustic Guitar Tabs

By Allison Thompson

When it comes to playing the acoustic guitar, it is important that you understand that guitar music has a different musical notation from that used when playing any other instrument. Other musicians will use staffs, notes, note values, key signatures, ledger lines and time signatures to help the play the music. But for guitar players they will use a musical notation known as tab. The great thing about acoustic guitar tabs is that it provides you with chance to learn how to play this instrument without actually having to learn to read musical, as you would normally have to. In fact, those people who play any form of stringed instrument use tabs or tablatures.

All of acoustic guitar tabs are a form of musical notation, which is known as tablature. However, when you look at an acoustic guitar tab, you will actually be looking at a diagram showing the strings on the guitar. The lines on the diagram represent the strings, with the first string being at the top and the sixth string being at the bottom. On the lines, you will also see numbers that represent which fret you are actually meant to play. When a Zero (0) appears on the lines this indicates an open string, whilst an X represents a muffled string.

If you are unsure as to what we mean by the Fret, this is the area that is located between the two metal bars that are on the neck (fingerboard) of the guitar. Normally a good quality guitar will have between 21 and 24 frets on it. In order to know which fret you need to place your finger a dot appears on the diagram in front of you.

When learning how to play guitar tabs occasionally you will notice that all the numbers appear on the same line one after the other. Plus you will also see that the frets you need to place your fingers at will the same as well. When you see this notation on the diagram it means that you should just pluck this one string and no others at all. Also it is through this tab you learn that you must play this one note and no others.

But if you find yourself in a situation when reading the diagram that you need to place each finger on to a separate string and on the same fret this is indicating that you then need to play these notes at the same time. The easiest and most effective way of doing this is by strumming on the strings rather than plucking them all at the same time.

Along with the tab positions, we have mentioned above there are other ones which you will need to learn. This includes Hammer-ons, Pull-offs, Slides and Bends and these are denoted by various letters and symbols. The Hammer-ons are denoted by the letter "h", Pull-offs are denoted by the letter "p", whilst bends are denoted by the letter "b". As for Slides, these are denoted by a slash "/". The type of tab you are likely to see on the diagram in front of when learning tabs where Hammer-ons are required are "7h9".

Once you have learnt the basics of reading tabs, carry out a search online for easy acoustic guitar tabs. Then select a very basic song that you know well and start to play around with it. However, it is important to note that reading and then playing acoustic guitar tabs does take some getting used to. But you will be surprised at just how quickly you can pick them up once you know how to read them.

Also being able to hear the song that you have been learning the acoustic guitar tabs for makes it much easier to learn as well. So even if you do think that you remember how the song goes when listening to it but actually being able to read the tabs as well will help you to learn and understand the rhythm and detail of the song as well.

By using acoustic guitar tabs in order to learn how to play the guitar will be much more fun and before too long you will be able to play several different songs quite easily. These you can the play for your own pleasure or for the pleasure of friends and family.

Cross Stitch Patterns Forums - The Stitcher's Secret Weapon

By Julia Wigham

Web 2.0, including social networking sites, online forums and message boards, allow more open communication online than ever available. Friendships are formed and information is shared. Stitchers have the opportunity to learn from more advanced crafters in cross stitch patterns forums, and it gives you the opportunity to share your knowledge with others.

There are a variety of different cross stitch forums available to people online. A few cross stitch magazines host an online forum where members can share patterns, ask technique questions, and offer links to the best pattern websites.

The forums are easy to find and easy to use; the only drawback is spending too much time on the forums and not enough time with your cross stitching! Just like with any forum, you can really lose track of time jumping from thread to thread (excuse the pun).

Common categories on cross stitch patterns forums include: a trading section, an area to show-off your work, an area to ask questions, and an area to post links to patterns. Often people visiting cross stitching forums are seeking help to locate a hard-to-find pattern, and the experienced cross stitchers can point them in the right direction.

Crafters are often looking for a place to discuss their cross stitch projects with other people interested in the topic. Since it can be hard to find other people who enjoy that type of conversation at a dinner party or company event, cross stitch pattern forums are a great place to discuss a favorite hobby.

Scheduling a certain time of day, or day of the week, to visit a forum is one way to have time for stitching while enjoying the camaraderie of the forum. Another way to limit your forum time is to limit the responses you make or the questions you ask. If you're not careful, you may find you're trying to find a pattern for someone else when you should be stitching on your own project.

Once you find one or more cross stitch patterns forums that you like, which have discussions you feel comfortable with, go ahead and jump right in. If you've never posted in an online forum before, it can be somewhat intimidating. But, the only way to find out is to try and see where you fit in with your fellow cross stitchers and hobbyists and begin building those new relationships.

What Is An Acoustic Guitar Chord

By Allison Thompson

An acoustic guitar chord is several notes all played at once. There are a lot of different acoustic guitar chords, but if you can learn a few basic ones, you can then play hundreds, if not thousands, of songs. There are some of the major chords, which have a brighter sound whilst the minor chords have a darker or sadder sound.

Guitar chords are notated with chord diagrams. Acoustic guitar chord diagrams are similar to guitar tabs, except that the lines representing the strings run vertically (up and down) rather than horizontally (side to side). When you look at a chord diagram, you will see a grid.

The lines, which are vertical in the grid as previously mentioned, represent the strings on the guitar, whilst the horizontal lines represent the frets. As well as these lines, there are also dots and numbers (along the base of the grid) and these have specific meanings that need to be adhered to if you want to get the right sound out of your instrument. The dots on these notations represent the position in which your fingers should be placed when pressing down on the strings. As for the numbers, these represent a different finger on your hand with which you will play the strings on the guitar. Number relates to a person's index finger, whilst Number 2 relates to the middle finger. Then Number 3 relates to a person's ring finger and Number 4 relates to your small finger.

If however you see a zero this is means that the string should be left open as it is played. Although the thumb does not generally, get used when playing the guitar on the grid this is denoted by the letter "T".

However, the first acoustic guitar that we are going to be talking about in this article is the G-Major chord. In order to play this particular chord you need to place your middle finger (No 2) on the 6th string at the 3rd fret. Your index finger (No 1) should be placed on the 5th string at the 2nd fret and your ring finger (No 3) on to the 1st string at the 3rd fret. Now all you need to do is play each one including along with open strings one at the time.

When you play each note, you make sure that you hear the sound that they are producing very clearly. If you do not or they make some kind of rattling or buzzing noise when being played you may find you need to press down on the fingerboard of the guitar a little harder or move the finger closer to the fret. Also as you play each note make sure that none of your fingers come into contact with each other as this can further cause the sound to be wrong. The other important thing to remember when learning to play the G-Major chord is that you never strum the strings together you should at all times play each one separately. Following these steps and you will ensure that you learn how to play this chord correctly.

The next chord, which we are going to show you how to play on the acoustic guitar in this article is the one known as E-Minor. For this one you need to place your index finger (No 1) on to the 2nd fret of the 5th String, your middle finger (No 2) on the 2nd fret of the 4th string. But when doing this you need to make sure that each finger has sufficient room between them to ensure that they do not touch each other. If you are unsure about the position of your fingers then try each note out and adjust them until you get the clear sound that you are after. But with this could once you have the sound right rather than playing each note separately you strum them together. As you will notice, the sound made when playing this minor chord is much darker than that when playing the G-Major one.

Other good basic acoustic guitar chords to learn are C-major, D-major, A-minor and A-major. Practice moving back and forth between acoustic guitar chords. Try to get your fingers in place quickly. At first you'll need to take some time and get your fingers in place one at a time. But by practicing this over and over again, you're building muscle memory. After a while, your fingers will just get in place by themselves.

Download Music Mp3 Online - Faqs Concerning Download Sites

By Davion Wong

While it is great to own a MP3 player, at times, finding sources of music where you can freely download music MP3 online without spending too much money is a big challenge. This is because there are too many sites online that are offering song downloads. Some are free; others are paid either per download or monthly/yearly/lifetime membership.

So before you decide on your choice of download site to download music MP3 online, consider this set of FAQs.

1. Is the service a subscription-based one or you got to pay each time you download a song?

Go for subscription based services as they tend to offer more songs for much lower prices.

2. Are there any usage rights for the music?

You would be surprised that the services actually observe different rules. Some of them allow you to copy the music onto the CDs. Others do not let you do so and insist that the files remain in digital format and transferred to an MP3 player instead. Also, there are several that restrict your downloads onto your computer only. So read the terms and conditions clearly.

3. Is the search engine fast and easy to use?

Various sites run on different engines. The important thing is they must be so easy to use that even a 10 year old can handle it and it must be able to pull out the list of requested songs instantly.

4. Is the database of songs huge enough?

Most sites today needs to provide at least a million songs, soundtracks, music videos from different record labels before they can be considered decent. Compare and see which ones offer the most for you to download music MP3 online.

5. Is it a multi-genre site?

Perhaps one often overlooked condition is the variety of music genres offered. You may love certain bands, or certain genre of music such as Pop and Rap. What a pity if they do not offer that. So be sure to check out the site thoroughly before subscribing.

6. Is the customer support reliable and available?

This is the tricky part. There are some sites that provide lousy service after you join them. They do not answer your calls or emails. Never join these. Fortunately, there are some professional ones that are ready to help you when you need them.

These are the 6 FAQs that you need to consider when choosing a site where you can download music MP3 online. Read a detailed review of some of the most popular sites for unlimited music downloads at my entertainment blog for more information.

Music Downloads For Iphone - Where To Get Cheap Quality Music

By Davion Wong

It was reported recently quality music downloads for iPhone are much sought-after. Among these searches, many are more interested to find places where they can have them cheap rather than paying the regular $0.99 for a song download. People are also ditching free sites that provide music downloads for iPhone as these sites are often plagued by big problems like adware, spyware and viruses threats.

In today's context, there are 2 kinds of services for music downloads for iPhone. One runs on a monthly or yearly subscription basis and the other through a lifetime membership fee. If you are genuinely looking for songs, soundtracks, music videos and music of the highest quality without busting your budget, these are your ideal options.

The lifetime membership option is the most popular among enthusiasts looking for music downloads for iPhone. This is due to its competitive pricing. The difference between the lifetime and annual memberships is only a few dollars. The lifetime membership entitles you to download unlimited number of music, songs, soundtracks and other media files like movies, TV shows and so on.

It remains quite interesting that people are still considering the yearly option thinking that if they can download as many as they want within the year and then discontinue the membership. The fact is, the services continually update their libraries with the latest hits and once your membership expires, you can no longer access the music downloads for iPhone anymore.

Another explanation for why some are opting for a short-term subscription such as a 1 month option is their doubt about the service. They wanted to try out the service and see if they are good first before continuing with the yearly or lifetime option. If they are no good, they would just move on to another music service.

Needless to say, this can be a wasteful exercise since the services that provide music downloads for iPhone already come with a money-back guarantee, and sometimes free trial period. Also, all services vary in many aspects and you may not have seen their strengths within such a short span.

Lifetime membership prices can range from $30 to $50. One advice for you is this - never assume the cheapest is the best. They are not. In fact, think about it. For professional services to run a 24/7 technical and customer support team as well as to provide a huge, constantly updated database of songs, it cannot possibly be too cheap right?

What should matter to you is an array of factors like how many media files they have, the number of music downloads for iPhone, secured download environment that is free from viruses, adware and spyware and a safe payment processing system such as ClickBank and Paypal.

Take a look at the most popular services providing music downloads for iPhone at my entertainment blog now.

Let Your Image 'speak' For Itself!

By Dan Feildman

The use of photographs as a way of expression has traversed a long and creative route. From scintillating images that were once considered the forte of niche artists, to using images as a captivating means to bring everyday necessities like calendars, e-cards and even online albums to share with the rest of the world, the modern-day perception of this art is indeed multifarious. When it comes to the more unconventional applications of photography, you may often find that a few words of wisdom, or humor as the case may be, often packs in a lot more punch than simply using the images themselves. In the days of yore, this option was considered a veritable taboo, in light of the tacky effect a caption or a tagline brought about. With Photoshop, however, this qualm is wiped away with the plethora of alternatives which have literally revolutionized the way the world views digital image editing.

Photoshop not only allows you to caption your image, but also blend the text in, so that instead of standing out as a jarring addition to your photograph, it merges in as an integral part of the frame. To do this, Photoshop uses a technique called Anti-Aliasing, which smoothes the edges of the text you type, by partially filling in the pixels along the edges. What's more, you can even choose the extent to which your text is smoothened from 'strong' to make your text appear heavier, to 'sharp' which makes the letters more prominent, but not crude.

When working with text that is very small in size and falls under the threshold of 10 or 12 points, it is advisable that you refrain from using Anti-Aliasing, as this may modify your text in an inconsistent manner. The same applies to images that are not of a very high resolution which may lead to the text being blurred at certain points. To smoothen or sharpen the text, you can choose the similarly labeled alternatives while the 'Crisp' option lets you meander midway, with the text preserving its conspicuousness and yet not standing out too blatantly from the rest of the image. To use Anti-Aliasing on your image, go into the 'Type' layer in the 'Layer Palette' which brings you to the Anti-Aliasing menu. It is from this menu, which you will find in the 'Options' bar or in the 'Character Palette' that you can select the most viable alternative to apply to your frame.

A swift way to reach for the Type tool is with the letter 'T'. This brings the Type Tool options to the Options bar, from where you can use the ones you want to work with. The first two buttons let you choose between creating a Type Mask, or a Type Layer, which you can, depending on what you're more comfortable with. If you have a large amount of text you want to fit into your image, the best way to go about it is to create a Type Layer, click and drag a rectangle or square to size your text and fit it in the section of the image where you want the text to be featured. If you plan to type directly onto the document, you can save on a lot of time and effort by referring to the I-beam that appears on the image. The small horizontal line that cuts across the beam indicates the baseline, which you can use to align your text with the image, even as you're working on it!

With Photoshop, you always have the option of previewing your text to check for font and style compatibility, even before you actually begin to type in the content. However, if you think you need to see the final effect to make your decision, you also have the alternative of typing your text in, highlighting it and then modifying the finer nuances. Coloring your text is another ballgame altogether. With Photoshop, you can not only fine-tune your color choice with every individual character, but also multi-hue your text while using only a single layer. While the Color-Picker is bound to spoil you for choice, you can also pick colors off your image by moving your cursor to the color you want to emulate, while keeping the Color Picker window open.

After you're through with working on your image and are ready to showcase it in all its creative glory, you can exit the 'Type' mode with the 'Enter' key on the Numeric keypad. Other ways to move out would be by clicking on any other tool in the toolbox, or the checkmark in the Options bar. For any oversights you want to correct, there is always the 'T' icon in the thumbnail section of the Layer's Palette, double-clicking on which, you can go back to the 'Editing' mode once again. An easy way to resize or reposition the text is to simply click and drag it as per your preference while holding down the 'Shift' key. This prevents your text from getting distorted in relation to the proportions you set out with and if you aren't too particular about the same, you can also stretch your text out, or flatten it by not using the 'Shift' key.

Photoshop has endless avenues for both amateur enthusiasts and professionals to explore. Although the learning curve can be steep and hard to grapple with, take your time with the software and be as creative as you can when using it. With a little practice and loads of determination, turning everyday plain-Jane images to digital masterpieces will be a forte you have firmly etched out for yourself!

Acoustic Beginner Guitar - Which One?

By Allison Thompson

When it comes to buying an acoustic beginner guitar for the first time there are several things that need to be taken into consideration before it is purchased.

Certainly, if you have he money then you should invest in as good a quality first guitar as you possibly can. The more you actually spend on the guitar then the better the quality of the tone that comes from it and it will be easier to play.

Of the all the high-end acoustic guitars now available one of the best you can invest in is the Seagull S6, which will cost you between $400 and $500. Yet although it is more expensive than a beginner will normally want to pay for their first guitar, it really is one of the most exceptional guitars in this price range. A large number of professional guitarists will often keep their Seagull S6 as well as any other ones that they have. Yet if you cannot get this one another good, acoustic beginner guitar is the Washburn D10s and was voted number 1 by Acoustic Guitar Magazine for those available to buy for less than $500. In fact, most people who want an acoustic guitar in this particular price range will go for either the Seagull or Washburn.

If you have less than $400 to be able to spend on such an instrument then take a look at the Fender DG7, Yamaha F310 or Takamine G-240 ones. All of which are less expensive than the two previously mentioned but still provide you with good quality. But if you can only spend about $120 to $150 on your acoustic guitar then it may be time to look at the Epiphone DR-100. Then when you feel the time is right and you feel confident with the way in which you play and have the funds available you can purchase a much more expensive model.

What one should never do when purchasing an acoustic beginners guitar is buy one that costs $100 or less. The major problem with these kinds of guitars is not only are the poorly made but they can be extremely difficult to play especially if you are only just starting to learn. The reason for this is that the fingerboard and strings are often widely spaced so getting the right position to play them becomes much more difficult.

However, if you are someone that only can afford to spend around $100 on theirs then look at buying a second hand one from your local guitar store. By doing this you will be able to actually look at all the different models available as well as try them out. Then you will be able to discover which of them with their different personalities will suit you the best.

One saying that comes to mind is that you should never buy a guitar from a jerk. But whether there is anything in this depends on whether you believe such myths or not, yet most people who play the guitar will treat their instrument in much the same way as they treat people. So a guitar, which has not been well cared for, is not likely to play as well as one that has been. So if the acoustic beginner guitar you try does not feel right even if the sound and tone is go then select a different one.

The final thing that you should do when buying a used acoustic beginner guitar is get the sales person to play it for you. These people will be able to show you just how good the sound quality and how well it will sound when you are able to play it for yourself. You never know the assistant that has helped you may in the future be able to say to others I was the person that helped them to choose their first guitar, after you have become a great guitar player.

Five Things You Must Do To Be A Professional Humorist

By Rick London

How does one get into comedy or become a cartoonist? Let me count the ways. There are too many to mention and its really one of those trial and error fields. But "funny" is a must.

Much of finding one's way in comedy or humor or any kind of entertainment is to discover what feels right. Which of these genres of work can one do and feel comfortable in his/her skin. If one tries acting, and feels like a fraud, then acting might not be for them, or, they may take professional acting classes and try again. In fact, the classes are a good idea from the start in any field. I tried many venues including the stage before finally settling for humor writing and cartooning. And I feel very content with it. When do you know you've paid your dues? Believe me, you'll know it. Be sure to bring several hankies for the multiple bloodied nose experiences.

I can look back to 1983, leaving my family's real estate business, moving to New York and deciding I was a stand-up comic. I'm glad at least one person felt I was one. As hard as I pushed at it, I couldn't seem to convince others of my avocation. Finally I came to my senses and gave it up. But didn't give up the field of humor, I simply studied other venues.

Keep in mind, once you are an emcee at a nightclub, you have not "arrived". You will get a lot more attention from the opposite sex (and sometimes your own), a few free meals and drinks if the club owner is generous, but not a lot more perks than that.

Leno did gigs in nightclubs all over America for years before he tried out for television in Los Angeles. Chances are he could have made it big way before he actually did so. But he wanted to make certain he knew exactly what he was doing, and the nightclubs were his grade school, middle school, and even post graduate comedy degrees.

Comedy acting? Take classes. There are plenty of them in larger cities. I took some in New York during my short stint there. Yes, they helped, but not enough. Such is life.

No doubt, the most i ever learned as a humor writer, and eventually having my own cartoon, was "being around other humor writers and actors". I was fortunate enough that a childhood friend, Patrick Weathers, had been a regular featured performer on Saturday Night Live. Patrick was my roommate in N.Y. I was privy to his friends who, were for the most part, quite witty. Humor is one of the greatest coping mechanisms whether one is in the field or not.

I got into cartooning as a humor writer and concept designer (maybe equivalent to art director in the movies). I can draw but not very well. So I recruited artists who felt they understood my concepts and writing and were willing to draw on speculation if I would continuously promote their name and art during down times, that is, of little or no income. Over the years illustrators came and went. A day did not go by in the first three years that I did not think we would have to abandon the project. But we persisted. (It doesn't help to read self-help books on the topic of persistence.)

Ten years later, it is almost unimaginable to me. We created the largest offbeat cartoon panel site on the Internet with over 8000 original images and have lured about 10 million people since we started counting ten years ago. We've opened 7 niche stores with over 90,000 cartoon items. Now we have arrived.

The Best Ways To Enter The Field Of Humor Or Cartooning

By Rick London

I can't tell you the right or wrong way to enter the field of comedy or how to become a cartoonist and keep a straight face. And that's good. Don't keep a straight face. That is rule number one.

I have been a stand-up comedian in New York City, but that was many years ago, and I am the last person to ask how to master that skill. I was dismal at it. But frankly, all I did was asked club owners, if I could "have a shot at it". Some said yes and some said no. The ones who said no did me a bigger favor, in retrospect.

One caveat: If you've become an emcee at a nightclub, you are not David Letterman or Jay Leno yet. You will get a lot more attention from the opposite sex (and sometimes your own), a few free meals and drinks if the club owner is generous, but not a lot more perks than that.

One of the hardest working persons in comedy, Leno, spent decades touring the country, toning his stand-up act and tweaking his delivery. That kind of experience is not mandatory, but if one ever wants a chance at such a job as his, it couldn't hurt.

What to play humorous characters in television, movies or commercials? Take classes. There are plenty of them in larger cities. I took some in New York during my short stint there. Yes, they helped, but not enough. That was my reality so I moved on.

I can honestly say that the best education I ever received for becoming a humor writer, and eventually having my own cartoon, was "hanging with funny people". I was fortunate enough that a childhood friend, Patrick Weathers, had been a regular featured performer on Saturday Night Live. Patrick was my roommate in N.Y. I was privy to his friends who, were for the most part, quite witty. I learned to think like they thought. I carried that with me throughout life. I found, like many of them must have, that a sense of humor can help one cope through all kinds of situations. And I have had many (situations).

I entered the field of cartooning only as a humor writer and concept designer (maybe equivalent to art director in the movies). I can draw but not very well. So I recruited artists who felt they understood my concepts and writing and were willing to draw on speculation if I would continuously promote their name and art during down times, that is, of little or no income. Many artists came and went. A day did not go by in the first three years that I did not think we would have to abandon the project. But we persisted. Reading persistence and motivation self-helps literature never hurts in any field including this one.

Advantages Of Looking For Cool Tattoo Ideas Online

By Reese Lanter

You can look for cool tattoo ideas in tattoo shops or in online sites. Although a lot of people still prefer to personally interview and look at artists' works, looking for cool tattoo ideas online has some great advantages.

Saves You a Lot of Trouble

Looking for tattoo ideas online is more convenient than visiting actual tattoo shops. Now, you no longer need to drive to different shops just to interview an artist or ask him about his work and experience. You can now conveniently browse for cool tattoo ideas while you sit at home. This can save you a lot of time, money, gas and energy. The best part is that you no longer have to feel pressured to make a decision right away.

Easy Comparison

It is also much easier to compare prices, sites, collections and galleries online. You can simply open several windows with different tattoo sites on them and take your time reading through their offers, services and policies. One other benefit of looking for cool tattoo ideas online is that you have the added advantage of reading site reviews and ratings. This will help you choose the best site that you are most comfortable with and has the best reputation among fellow users.

Thousands of Options

You can always expect to get thousands of cool ideas and designs whether an online gallery is free or not. There are sites that can even offer you numerous variations of a design or allow you to customize designs or mix and match. Once you are done looking for cool tattoo ideas you can organize your favorites and print your choices for your artist. Some sites are even so helpful that they can also provide you with many great tips and articles from real experts.

Easy Navigation

Because online designs are categorized, its easier for you to find specific designs in mind. You can easily look for cool tattoo ideas by clicking on specific categories or by typing search terms in their search box.

Interactive Assistance

Another plus feature of some online galleries is that they offer their members the chance to interact with each other. This is a great tool if you want to get cool tattoo ideas that other people will like. In gallery forums, you can upload your design options and ask other members to tell you what they think of the designs. You can also conversely offer your expertise.

Real Artists

There are tattoo galleries that are run or owned by tattoo artists. In other words, you don't just get a collection of random designs. You really get fresh pieces of artwork from accomplished tattoo experts.

Online Directories

Most online tattoo sites also offer a comprehensive list of tattoo artists from different states and different cities. A typical online directory would have the artists' contact information and probably even a short description of the artists' experiences and expertise. So instead of going around the city in an unorganized shop search, you can simply look online for shops that are near your location.

Photo Secrets

By Tom Tooma

Glamour photography is first and foremost about making one look great in pictures, this is the type of skill that is most appreciated in the high fashion world. Glamour photography is generally handled and distributed by big names in the business that create great shots they afterwards sell to magazines and publications. There are all sorts of tutorials and courses that can teach one the secrets of glamour photography, as any apprentice photographer needs to acquire important knowledge that allows expert picture status. Some people say that shooting glamour photos is like making traditional portraits as it requires following certain lighting setup steps.

The main difference between traditional artistic photography and the more commercial nature of glamour photography is that the latter requires more life and shine than the former. Such a unique touch can only be achieved by someone who truly masters the secrets of photography. There are shooting tricks that are learned and decoded in time starting from the background preparation to the choice of props and backdrops. With glamour photography one is not taking simple pictures, but actually making them sparkle; let's see how to add this unique touch to one very rewarding kind of work.

Glamour photography requires the use of special light stands, positioned in such as way so that background items be easily attached to the decor easily afterwards. Every light stand you set up will have to be positioned in such a way so as to create the most stable footing possible, not to mention that they need to be perfectly operable during the photo shooting. Background props and supplies are definitely an important issue when preparing the session as such. Glamour photography devices require both precision and a certain liberty of movement in the operation of the camera, so that professional items are the ones that make a great job.

The models one gets to work with in glamour photography sessions are some of the best paid ones in the business; but this photographic sector is not limited to the fashion world. Yes, this is the main tendency to associate glamor with the catwalk, but film stars, musicians and other famous people often take advantage from the great benefits of professional photographic skills. Prices for photo sessions are incredibly high for both parties operating in the transaction; good photographers are paid small fortunes, not to mention the profit model agencies make from honoring glamor contracts.

If Bill Gates Sold Maternity And Infant Wear

By Rick London

As an online merchant who sells unique funny maternity and infant wear I understand the importance of bundling products. It not only helps create sales, but more importantly makes the customer happier. Because I can bundle, I'm able to sell something that wouldn't otherwise exist in the marketplace, and something much more memorable than what already exists.

Did you ever wonder how the term "bundled products" received such a bad name? It all started with the milestone case of Netscape Vs. Microsoft several years back.

Though bundling has been with us since early times, it was the auto industry that made it popular. As it evolved over the years it started adding spare tires, air-conditioning, and now even GPS as standard inclusive with the price. That is simple bundling. It helps sell cars and saves the consumer time and money so they don't have to buy those added features elsewhere.

Another example of bundling is when vcr players added remote controls.

Everyone from major business newspapers to legal scholars and professors all thought the suit was a bit silly. But Netscape pressed on.

In a million years I wouldn't even consider purchasing a pc without an OS. I don't know anyone who would. I think Walmart tried selling some awhile but it was pretty short-winded.

I have nothing against Netscape, and, in fact, I think they make a very good browser. But I do question, not based on expertise, but on business studies and even being a consumer, why, the fact that I.E is bundled, is so bad? The question has never been fully-answered to me.

Parents love to take pictures of their newborn. And they love to take pictures of each other holding their newborn. They love to invite people over to see their newborn and they love to have coffee with them and talk and talk about their newborn. And they should. And my bundled products only serves to enhance that experience. So I really don't think I should feel bad at all about bundling my funny gift products that are available with my funky maternity dresses, and matching funny baby clothes and infant wear. (With apologies to Netscape).

And while we are on the topic of photography, cameras and digicams generally are packaged with lens included. Another example of bundling products.

Maternity And Infant Wear...should It Be Bundled?

By Rick London

I sell bundled products....I sell a unique humor line of maternity and infant cartoon wear that match; parents can match infant for that perfect Kodak moment. I'm proud of it, and I think I should be. It's different than anything on the market.

In the landmark case in which Netscape went after Microsoft for bundling Internet Explorer was the first I'd really heard of a complaint against bundling. One of the most important aspects of creating a product is learning to bundle it. It's taught in every major business school.

If I'm not mistaken, Henry Ford (or one of the big car manufacturers began bundling cars with "extras"). Every car we buy today is bundled. That means "added on features" that are standard, so the consumer does not have to buy them separately. Air-conditioning would be one example.

The trial went on for a long time. It was no circus like the O.J trial but it stayed with us longer than usual cases, no doubt, because it included high-profile persons. I still never fully understood why Microsoft had to comply to any of the demands.

And speaking of photography, would you buy a camera without a lens included? I didn't think so.

An Online Merchant Bundles His Products...and Is Proud

By Rick London

I remember when I was six years old and my mom was pregnant with my baby brother. I still have a photo at about month 8.5. It was not a pretty picture (not Mom, she was beautiful), but the fashion they put her in. Then later, we took pics of my baby brother in his trendy infant wear. Not too much prettier. What was wrong? No bundling of products is my theory.

I remember being totally surprised when the headline news, a few years ago was Bill Gates being sued by Netscape for bundling I.E. They called it "unfair trade practices" or "creating a monopoly" or some kind of legal jargon. I remember chuckling and asking myself, "Then why did they drill bundling into us in business school?"

One of the great early car makers was the first to make bundling popular by including added features such as spare tires and automatic transmission as "all-inclusive".

Another might be a television that includes a remote control and dvd player. The list goes on and on.

So why did Microsoft get so much flack for "bundling Internet Explorer" when Netscape had a browser on the market at least five years prior to them? I still ask that question, and, according to my research, so do a lot of constitutional legal experts, not to mention The Wall Street Journal.

Cross Stitch Wedding Gifts To Treasure

By Julia Wigham

Finding a meaningful wedding gift for friends or relatives can be a difficult task. However, if you have an interest in cross-stitching, consider creating a special keepsake for the bride and groom using basic, intermediate, or advanced cross stitch skills. Cross stitch wedding gifts are a wonderful way to give something handmade and beautiful that the couple will cherish for years to come.

If you choose a cross stitch wedding gift, the following are some ideas to consider:

For the couple celebrating their union with a Christian wedding, incorporating the Christian cross into the piece of work is a tasteful way to recognize their covenant with each other and their God. You can use a simple design including the couple's names and the date of their wedding.

Incorporating flowers along with a scripture or a poem is another great cross stitch idea. If you know the type of flowers that are going to be used in the wedding you can incorporate them into the pattern to make it more special. Instead of using a longer written statement, you can simplify it by using "Just Married", "Love of a Lifetime" or other short phrase.

Items that represent love, purity or unity are great symbols to use when making something for a wedding. Rings and doves are two different ideas.

A cross stitch wedding gift the happy couple is sure to cherish is a cross stitched version of their invitation. This gift may take more skill, and considerably more time, to complete, but it can easily be framed to display in their home. Cross stitching the invitation adds a homemade touch and shows the couple how much you care.

There are many other ideas for your wedding gift. Traditional wedding themes like hearts or a unity candle with the family names are two examples. Non-traditional motifs include lyrics to the bride and groom's favorite song.

Of course, if you know the bride and groom very well, you will have less problems deciding on a theme that will merge their likes into a flawless design. The gift can be personalized and unique making it a cross stitch wedding gift they're sure to enjoy. And you'll be satisfied knowing that your gift will bring them enjoyment for years to come.

Scroll Saw Patterns For Perfect Design

By Clinton Maxwell

Do you ever wonder how woodworkers get those beautifully intricate carved patterns into their designs? They get the job done with a scroll saw! With a scroll saw, any number of unique patterns can be incorporated into woodworking designs, and while a scroll saw, like a Henger scrollsaw, may not be the first piece of equipment a newbie woodworker should run out and buy for their shop, a scroll saw is a must for moving beyond the plain lines and edges. You can draw your own designs to use with scroll saws of course, but you can also used scroll saw patterns to create the same effect.

Tips for Using Scrollsaw Patterns - Cutting into wet wood won't work. Hold off on your scroll cutting until the wood is done dry. - You can make patterns larger or smaller to fit your piece of wood, of course, but you must be very precise. Remember that the perspective of the image will change as you change sizes as well, so take that into account. - You can discourage the wood from splitting when using scroll saw by putting a piece of plywood underneath when your saw is in action. - Stop every once in a while during the cutting process and make sure everything is on track and that you know what your next move will be. - Finish with sandpaper to make your wood smooth. - Don't get too cocky. Even if you have been woodworking for awhile, working with a scroll saw is new territory. Practice your hand on simple designs and take your time so you can correct any mistakes as you go, before you pass the point of no return. - If you're working with many pieces of wood, take time out every now and then to make sure everything is lining up. - When you need a breather, take one. Once you use the saw, there is no turning back, so tired eyes won't cut it (no pun intended). Likewise, if you've had enough caffeine to make you jump out of your skin, wait until your hands are steadier.

Scoll saw patterns can be found online, often for little to no cost, and you can also find tons and tons of books filled with scroll saw patterns. Once you find the right pattern for the job, use a pencil to trace the pattern onto your wood, so you can follow it as you saw.

Opera Making A Big Comeback With The Vahan Mirakian Foundation

By Rick London

I wrote a bit last week about the honor I had to meet opera tenor great Vahan Mirakian last year in Mexico during his deportation battle to re-enter the U.S. I am very pleased to say that he has returned and is doing his good works through his nonprofit foundation, the Vahan Mirakian Foundation. I encourage everyone to visit the site and see some of the videos, hear some snippets of this man's incredible voice at www.vahanmirakian.com.

Keep in mind, this is coming from a simple Mississippi writer who grew up on Charlie Pride and Hank Williams. Though I still consider them greats in their the world of country music, admittedly it took me a little while to understand and finally appreciate this amazing art known as opera (Vahan can do it all and as you will see in the short video, recently did a special tango concert which was a sellout in Los Angeles).

Here is some important information on Vahan and his foundation:

Vahan Mirakian, born in Armenia, belongs to the excelling tenor singers of our period. His reputation covers a lot of countries where he performs diverse opera parts and a broad repertory of songs and folk-songs.

Already as a pupil the young tenor sang in concerts of amateurs. As he also was a member of the Armenian junior basketball-team, he had to choose: He chose the music instead of sports and entered the Jerewan conservatory where Tamara Shakhnazarian became his first teacher. In his third year of studies he gave his debut at the Spendiarow opera house in Yerevan, Armenia. Having finished his studies he was invited to enter the ensemble of the opera house and sang in his first season, the parts of Lensky in "Eugen Onegin", the Duke in "Rigoletto" and Alfredo in "La Traviata". Other figures he performed are "Lucia di Lammermoor", "La Boheme", "Carmen" and "Tosca".

Three years working with Maestro Barra in Milano was very successful. The young singer had now the possibility to learn the fine nuances of Italian belcanto by studying parts like Cavaradossi ("Tosca") and Rodolfo ("La Boheme") at the Teatro Alla Scala. At the same time Mirakian studied a huge repertory of songs which he performed for the first time in Milano and in the hall "G. Verdi" in Parma. Immediately after his studies Mrakian got a contract with the Bolschoi-Theater in Moscow, Russia where he performed the grand parts of the lyric Russian and the Italian repertory until his immigration in 1981.

Vahan Mirakian, during his long artistic like, has fascinated listeners all over the world. Not only with his perfect cantilena and his fine phrasing and nuances of his grand voice, but also with his vast reparatory reaching from songs by Schubert and Schumann over the romances by Tshaikovsky and Rachmaninov until the Russian and Armenian folk-songs. He has sung in each big city in Russia, the United States, Canada, Sweden, England, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Poland, Yugoslavia, Czechia, Hungary, Japan, South Africa, Near East and also became a welcomed guest in different famous opera houses around the world. Mirakian now lives in Los Angeles, CA in the United States where he applies to the education of young singers in single lessons, workshops and masterclasses. Take advantage of this opportunity if you are in the Los Angeles area to take lessons with the a true maestro.

The mission of Vahan's foundation is to provide help for the development and the growth of our culture; to help young talents to get the necessary training and education by awarding scholarships and other forms of financial aid; provide the right training to help them gain recognition in all kinds of art forms.

His mission statement: One Dollar for the sake of the Arts!

The Foundation statement adds, "We hope that this foundation will help us bring together all those wonderful individuals who have the love, passion and appreciation for the arts. The foundation has also established a vocal arts and classical music academy where students will have a chance to work and get personal attention and training from the Master of Bel Canto Maestro Vahan Mirakian himself."

A Woodworkers Guide To How To Build Your Shop

By Ken Morris

If there is one tool that all woodworkers and cabinetmakers need, it is a saw. Although there are many different kinds of saws out there, most novice woodworkers and cabinet makers go for miter saws and table saws. However, when your woodworking business (or hobby) grows, chances are that you are going to need to expand the number of saws you have in your workshop. The best way to do this is to educate yourself about all of the saws that are out there so you make the best choice.

How to Choose Saws for Woodworking

When it comes to the most important piece of equipment in your workshop, a table saw comes in at the top of the list, and for this reason, table saws are the ones that are purchased first by aspiring woodworkers and cabinetmakers. The major different between table saws is voltage - they come in 240 or 120. The lower voltage is entirely adequate for amateur use, but if you are going into woodworking professionally or expect to be using the saw heavily, go for the higher voltage. With a voltage of 240, you'll need an electrician to make a few adjustments to the lines before you can use it.

Some things to keep in mind about table saws include, first and foremost, how much kick the motor has. You also need to concerns yourself with whether the saw tilts to the right or left. Also, make sure there is some mechanism in the saw that catches some of the dust created when you're using it, or you'll have a major mess on your hands. Above all else, make sure the saw feels comfortable in your hands and that you think you'll be able to maneuver it with accuracy.

Woodworking Miter Saws

If table saws are the most important, miter saws are a close second. Without a miter saw in your workshop, you will not be able to cut corners or make curves and angles at all. The market is filled with miter saws in a variety of different price ranges and with a variety of different features. If you're not sure where to begin, ask around or check out a few online reviews.

If you have a large job on your hands, a woodworkingmiter saw is also a must. Be aware that some miter saws work on a stand and some miter saws work on the ground. The choice between these is a matter of personal preference. You should always go for the saw that feels best and most comfortable for you when you are doing your work.
